CARMINA VILLAROEL ON PLAYING HER FIRST VILLAIN ROLE AS A KAPUSO IN 'BABAWIIN KO ANG LAHAT', STARTS AIRING ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22

CARMINA VILLAROEL was asked by her twins Mavy and Cassy in their Saturday morning show, “Sarap, Di Ba?”, as to when did she realize that their dad Zoren Legaspi is truly The One for her.

She candidly admits: “Noong mawala siya. Nag-break kasi kami noon for a while. Noong mawala siya, doon ko na-realized na it’s him. Totoo palang marami kang realizations when the person is gone.”

And now, her marriage to Zoren Legaspi is one of the most stable unions in showbiz and both of them also continue to have flourishing careers.

Zoren is in “Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit” while Carmina is now in GMA-7’s new Afternoon Prime soap, “Babawiin Ko ang Lahat”, where she plays a villain role as the thorn on the side of Pauline Mendoza who’s being launched in the series.

“Actually, reluctant nga akong tanggapin itong role ko rito as Dulce, first wife ni John Estrada na iniwan siya kasi mahirap siya,” she says.

“Tapos, nung yumaman siya, bumalik ako to reclaim him at pinalayas ko ang current wife niyang si Tanya Garcia at ang anak nilang si Pauline.

"It’s hard for me to play contravida, kasi malayo yun sa totoong ako. Ang hirap kaya nung lagi kang sumisigaw, nagagalit, kasi in real life kahit galit ako, I don’t shout or scream.

"At kahit tapos na i-tape yung eksena, nadadala mo pa yung emotion.”

She really had to think twice before accepting “Babawiin Ko ang Lahat”.

“This is the first time kasi that GMA asked me to play villain. Lahat kasi ng villain roles ko before, sa kabila, like ‘Bridges of Love’, ‘Okat Tokat’, ‘Doble Kara’.

"Pero as a Kapuso, puro mabait ang roles ko as a very caring mother in ‘Kambal Karibal’, ‘Kara Mia’, so for a change, salbahe naman ang character ko ngayon.”

She’s also a mother in the story and she’s very nice to her own kids.

“Mga anak ko rito kay John Estrada sina Kristoffer Martin and Liezel Lopez at siempre, mabait ako sa kanila. But when it comes to Pauline Mendoza na anak ni John kay Tanya Garcia, super mataray ako at aapihin ko siya.

"Pero pinaglaruan ko yung role at nilagyan ko ng twist na nakakatawa, so abangan nyo ang kakaibang interpretasyon ko sa role ko as Dulce.”

What does she think of Pauline Mendoza? Is GMA justified in giving her this big break in a teleserye?

“Oo naman. Nagkasama na kami before in ‘Kambal Karibal’ at okay siya. Alam niya ang gagawin niya sa harap ng kamera and she is willing to learn.

"I give her advice and she listens naman. I always like helping newcomers.

"We just pay it forward kasi, siempre, yung mga anak ko ngayon, nagsisimula rin sa showbiz, like si Cassy, first acting job niya ang ‘First Yaya’ as the daughter of Gabby Concepcion, so dasal ko, maging mabait din sa kanya ang co-stars niya at tulungan siya sa acting niya.”
