Jewel is one of the female winners of Starstruck V in 2007, along with Kris Bernal (their male counterparts were Aljur Abrenica and Martin Escudero). For a while, she became known as the “girlfriend sa dilim” of Richard Gutierrez because she was never acknowledged publicly as his sweetheart.
They eventually parted and Richard is now living in with the winner of Starstruck 6, Sarah Lahbati. Jewel moved to ABS-CBN and was given roles in soaps like “Maria la del Barrio”, "Maalaala Mo Kaya" and “Precious Hearts Romance's Paraiso”, but her career didn’t really take off. She was last seen as a celebrity contestant in the short-lived reality show, “I Dare You”, then she faded out from showbiz and next we heard, she’s already engaged to her American boyfriend. They’re both very faith-centered and waited for marriage before they even kiss each other or engage in any intimate act. To Jewel and groom, our best wishes for a successful marital union.
