DIRECTOR EASY FERRER just directed Regal’s Metro Filmfest entry, “The Missing”, and now, he has finished shooting the entire season of “BenXJim Forever” with 8 episodes.
“Maraming nabitin sa Season 1 ng ‘BenXJim” kasi hindi siya happy ending,” he says. “Season 1 was told from the point of view of Teejay Marquez as Ben. It’s lighter, more whimsical, parang fairy tale.
"Season 2 is from the point of view of Jerome Ponce as Jim and it’s now more grounded, bittersweet, maraming pain about the realities of love, about moving on. The other characters we introduce, may kanya-kanya ring stories and arc.
"May stories about LGBT in the workplace, may differences sa age gap ng magkarelasyon. Mas maraming mapapanood in this new season.”
He treats all his characters like normal people.
“Before, sa LGBT stories, either comedy or tragedy ang treatment. But here, we present it just like other romantic stories to show we’re just the same as other normal human beings.
"We include LGBT issues but in a more progressive way. Wala ng struggles sa pagkakaroon ng stigma because of your gender but treated just like other people na nakikita mo sa kapitbahay mo.”
Aside from Ben and Jim, the other characters in Season 2 include Sarah Edwards as Yana, the girlfriend of Jim who’s sweet and gentle in Season 1, but she has now evolved and will find love in another guy, Ron Martin, who returns as Olan, the courier driver first linked to Ben.
“Hindi na ako prim and proper at uto-uto like before,” says Sarah. “Nagrerebelde na si Yana to compensate for her inner weakness”.
Kat Galang, who plays Flo, the nurse that is Ben’s best friend in Season 1, will now have her own romantic interest in Dante, played by Darwin Yu, who first appeared in the BL series, “My Extraordinary”.
Miko Gallardo (last seen in the BL series “My Day”) is Bogs, who cannot reveal his true self in his own office as there is a discrimination there against gays and he is afraid he might lose his job if he’d be outed.
Johannes Rissler returns as Leo, the first BF of Ben who acts as a contravida in his life. Royce Cabrera (seen in "Fuccbois" and now exclusive with GMA) plays Ben’s new squeeze after Jim goes missing.
Vance Larena (of "Bakwit Boys") is Val, who’ll also come between Ben and Jim. EJ Jallorina plays Francia, a long time barkada of Ben and Flo.
