FHM Cover Girls Jennifer Lee & Cindy Miranda Have Violent Fight Scenes With Cristine Reyes In 'Maria'

JENNIFER LEE and Cindy Miranda, both FHM cover girls, are given a big break in the action-thriller, “Maria”, as two deadly female assassins who both have slambang mano-a-mano showdowns with title-roler Cristine Reyes. Jennifer’s encounter with Cristine that happens inside the ladies room is really bone-crunching.

“We did the entire scene without any doubles,” she says. “Cristine and I talked that we might get to really hurt each other during the shoot and we did. But we’re so happy because all our moves in the entire fight scene turned out to be so convincing as they’re really well choreographed.”

Jennifer grew up in Malaysia then she moved back to Manila and became one of the members of the sexy group called Viva Hot Babes. But she took a leave when she went back to her studies and got a degree in Culinary Arts from Enderun College. “But I really miss acting and showbiz so I’m just thankful that Viva gave me another chance to act here in ‘Maria’,” she adds.

Cindy Miranda got her break as one of Richard Gutierrez’ vampire girls in the fantaserye, “La Luna Sangre”. She joined Bb. Pilipinas and represented out country in the Miss Tourism Queen International Competition held in China some years ago. She made it as one of the semi-finalists.  She has a tourism degree and graduated cum laude in 2011.

She feels fortunate to have been tapped to play a lead role in a Korean film entitled “Package: Golden Holiday”. “I took the audition and I was so surprised when the director, Kim Bong Han, called me back and got me for the project, with Kwak Do Won as leading man,” she says. “He’s best known film is the acclaimed horror movie, ‘The Wailing’. The movie is an action-thriller and was shot here in Manila last year.”

She’s happy to be part of the cast of “Maria” that opens in theaters on March 27. “I play one of the henchmen of Ivan Padilla, who wants to kill Cristine as Maria. Maganda ang pagkagawa ng movie ng director naming si Pedring Lopez and it’s exciting from start to finish.”

KATHERINE “Kat” DE CASTRO is the new President and CEO of Interisland Broadcasting Corp. or IBC-13. She met the press Wednesday at lunch to bare her plans for Channel 13 that used to be the number 1 station in the country with hit shows like “Eh Kasi Babae”, “Chicks to Chicks”, “Goin’Bananas”, “The Sharon Cuneta Show”, “Scoop”  and “Iskul Bukol”.

It’s now celebrating its 60th anniversary and a documentary about it will be aired this Friday night at 9:30 PM, titled “The Original No. 1: IBC 13’s Legacy of Philippine Television”, hosted by Chiqui Roa Puno, featuring interviews with former IBC 13 stars like Tito Sotto, Joey de Leon, Nova Villa, Lolit Solis, and personnel like Bert de Leon, Lilybeth Rasonable, Linggit Tan, and many more.

Kat promises a new improved IBC 13 in the days to come. “Kung may Kapuso at Kapamilya,” she says, “Kami naman ang magiging Kaibigan nyo. Like your friend, we’ll make you laugh, cry, give you news and information and also advice about life. In line with the coming election, we offer a show featuring our senatorial candidates every Tuesday and Thursday at 8:30 PM, titled ‘OOTD: Opisyal of the Day’.

This will help voters in making their decision who to vote for. Then we’ll have a different kind of travel show, ‘#Cooltura’, a millennial’s approach to traveling around the country. We will also bring back the most well loved shows of IBC 13 in the 80s and 90s in ‘Ultimate Throwback’, with classics like TODAS, “Sic O’Clock New’, ‘Hapi House’, ‘Retro TV’.

A comm arts graduate from Miriam College, Kat is the daughter of veteran broadcaster Noli de Castro and TV producer Arlene de Castro. She also hosted her own shows, like the travel show “Trip na Trip” and the business magazine show, “Swak na Swak”. Kat is serious in her desire to make IBC 13 fully competitive again.

“Yes, we’re still here,” she says. “Our aim is to make the network globally competitive, a leading light in the Philippine broadcast industry providing programs that are socially relevant, wholesome, entertaining, informative and commercially viable.”

Public School Teacher Ronalyn Quinio From San Pablo Wins Foton Gratour Van From PLDT Gabay Guro Grand Gathering's Raffle

PLDT’S GABAY GURO is a noble program to help hone,  train and improve the skills and welfare of our own teachers nationwide. In their last program, Grand Gathering for teachers, there was a grand raffle and one of the top prizes was a brand new car. Public school teacher Ronalyn Quinio won it and drove home last week with a brand new Foton Gratour Van. This is done in partnership with premier motor vehicle brand Foton.

Hailing from San Pablo City, Laguna, Quinio has been teaching in Placido Escudero Memorial School for 11 years now. Quinio is among the 20,000 teachers who were present at last year’s Grand Gathering at Mall of Asia. Quinio, like many teachers from across the country, remains instrumental in changing the lives of today’s generation. Quinio is thankful to PLDT Gabay Guro for all their help to teachers.

Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray Pays Courtesy Visit To PLDT Chairman & CEO Manny V. Pangilinan

As part of her grand homecoming festvites, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray made a much-awaited stopover at the PLDT head office where she met with PLDT Chairman and CEO Manny V. Pangilinan.

During the courtesy visit, MVP expressed renewed commitment to PLDT’s partnership with Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) and Miss Universe Organization. Since 2014, PLDT has supported BPCI’s various causes and events, particularly the annual and highly anticipated Binibining Pilipinas pageant.

“We  are  one  with  the  nation  in  celebrating Catriona’s victory,” MVP said. “Her resounding success proves what we’ve always known—that Filipinos are truly world-class. We look forward to continuing our fruitful partnership with BPCI and Miss Universe Organization, and empower more amazing Filipinos to shine on the global stage.”

PLDT  employees and  officials warmly welcomed  the  homecoming  queen while Catriona took time to entertain them and take pictures with them, even showcasing her world-famous signature ‘lava walk.’

The courtesy visit to PLDT was one of the highlights of Catriona’s triumphant return to the country. A true queen with a mission, she also found time in her hectic schedule to visit two charitable organizations that she supports: LoveYourself Foundation for HIV/AIDS awareness and education, and Smile Train for underprivileged children who were just too happy to see her in person.

Goodbye, Tita Midz! You Will Always Remain In Our Hearts!

OUR CONDOLENCES to the family of Tita Midz. Armida Siguion Reyna is one of the most colorful personalities in the history of local showbiz. She left quietly at the Makati Medical Center last Monday afternoon at the age of 88 after a terminal illness.

Very outspoken and straightforward, she’s not afraid of anything or anyone. She’s a late bloomer in showbiz. Although she did a movie as a child actress, her dad put his foot down when she wanted to be join showbiz and she was sent to New York for high school and college studies.

She married Leonardo Siguion Reyna in 1951, but continued her love for music and performed in operas. In 1970, she started producing “Aawitan Kita” on TV that propagated local music and which lasted for more than 30 years. She also produced “Mga Kuwento ng Pag-ibig”, an anthology of well made love stories.

 In 1975, she forayed into movies in “Sa Pagitan ng Dalawang Langit” which starred Gina Pareno and Miss Aruba, Maureen Ava Vieira. She played a leper and won the best supporting actress award in a local filmfest.  In 1977, she did “Tahan Na, Empoy” for the late Lino Brocka and won the Urian and FAMAS best supporting actress award as the cruel aunt of child actor Nino Muhlach.

She gave similarly memorable performances in Mike de Leon’s “Kakabakaba Ka Ba?”, Mario O’Hara’s “Dung-aw” and “Mga Bilanggong Birhen”, Laurice Guillen’s “Salome”, Elwood Perez’ “Totoong Buhay ni Pacita M”, Celso Ad. Castillo’s “Paradise Inn”, Joel Lamangan’s “Filipinas”. As a producer, her Reyna Films did such acclaimed works as “Hihintayin Kita sa Langit”, “Ikaw Pa Lang ang Minahal”, “Saan Ka Man Naroroon”, “Ligaya ang Itawag Mo sa Akin”, “Azucena”, “Ang Lalaki sa Buhay ni Selya”, most of which won various awards.

A great fighter against censorship, she became the chair of the MTRCB during the time of Erap and it’s one of the most open-minded administrations ever.

In the 80s, she hosted a movie talk show, “Let’s Talk Movies”, on RPN-9. She invited us to be a guest and later on asked us to be one of her co-hosts. After each show, we would go out to have late dinner and there was never a dull moment with her. We will miss you, Tita Midz, truly one of the most respectable and memorable grand dames of local showbiz.

JESSICA SOHO’s Sunday night show topped the Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement or NUTAM of AGB Nielsen surveys and we’re not surprised. It has become a habit for weekend viewers because it’s so informative, enlightening and the stories are all presented in an entertaining manner that quickly hooks the viewers. Produced by GMA News and Public Affairs, it presents a wide variety of stories from social media, current events, movie and TV stars, sports, pop culture and what have you.

It surely deserves all the recognition and the numerous local and international awards it has won so far. Kudos to the researchers and the writers for coming up with interesting segments and meaningful shows every weekend, like family members who have not seen each other for ages being reunited. No wonder that it has been noticed even abroad, like Australia’s “60 Minutes” which picked up the story about a Fil-Australian’s search for his biological mom and Jessica’s team who was so determined to help the guy find his real mother.

Jessica was presented as the Philippines’ answer to Oprah Winfrey. The New York Times also picked up Jessica’s story on giant shipworms called Tamilok in the province of Sultan Kudarat, which sparked interest among international scientists to do more research on the creature. No wonder everyone is saying Jessica Soho’s show is definitely of world class standards.

It also has millions of followers in social media where its stories are also a big hit, like that coverage they had about conjoined twins in Palawan and their exclusive interview with Richard Gomez and his wife Lucy and daughter Juliana. Eddie Garcia Doesn't Mind Getting Just A Special Jury Prize And Not The Best Actor Award

EDDIE GARCIA was predicted to win again in the Metro-Manila Filmfest as best actor for “Rainbow’s Sunset”, after he won earlier this year at the Cinemalaya and QC Cinema filmfests, but he was just given a special jury prize instead in the awards last Thursday, while his co-stars Gloria Romero won as best actress, Aiko Melendez and Tony Mabesa as best supporting actress and actor. How does he feel about it?

 “Okay lang naman, no problem. An award for any actor is a big bonus so I will treasure that special jury prize,” he says. “It’s an affirmation that you have done you’re job well. But I don’t consciously act on camera hoping my work will an award. Kung mapapansin, di salamat. Kundi naman, okay rin lang. My goal is to please the viewers so they’ll get their money’s worth. And I hope the awards that ‘Rainbow’s Sunset’ won will help people realize that this is a good quality film and it will attract more viewers to watch it in theaters.”

 He plays an aging gay in the movie, something he has done before in “Bwakaw”. “I’ve done other gay roles like ‘Tubog sa Ginto’ with the late Lino Brocka, ‘Nagalit ang Buwan sa Haba ng Gabi, and a comedy called ‘Paruparong Buking’. It was never a big deal for me. I just look at it as part of my job. But itong ‘Rainbow’s Sunset’, naiiba siya kasi it’s about the longtime love affair ng two senior citizens with the permission of my wife, Gloria Romero, unlike in ‘Tubog sa Ginto’ where my wife, the late Lolita Rodriguez, didn’t take it well and it ended in tragedy.”

 What would he do if he’d have a son who turned out to be gay? “Wala, I’d still love him. Hindi naman niya kasalanan if he were born that way. That’s why I don’t mind doing gay roles kasi it helps spread awareness na hindi naman masama kung maging bakla o tomboy ka. E, ipinanganak kang ganoon, you were created that way, so what can you do? Tanggapin na lang natin na may mga tao talagang ipinanganak na ang sexual orientation is different from what is considered normal.”

This year has been a very busy one for him and he hopes to remain active next year and beyond. “I started acting in the movies in 1949 in ‘Siete Infantes de Lara’. So by next year, 2019, I would have been acting for a total of 70 years na, and I have no regrets about devoting my entire life and career on acting. I also have no intention of retiring. Wala yan sa bokabularyo ko, ang magretiro. I will be doing this habang may kumukuha sa aking umarte and as long as God allows me to.”

Presenting The Eight Final Entries In The Metro-Manila Filmfest 2018 That Opens In Theaters Starting Today, Christmas Day!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!!!! It’s the start of the Metro-Manila Filmfest 2018 today and to those who intend to watch the movies in the current festival, here’s a primer as to what the entries are all about. The first four finalists were chosen in June based on their submitted scripts. These are: “Aurora” - A horror drama produced by Viva Films and directed by Yam Laranas. Shot in Batanes, it’s about a ship named Aurora that sank in the high seas. Anne Curtis stars as an island girl who is asked by the families of the victims to help look for the remains of their missing loved ones. Anne then embarks on a scary journey assisted by her former boyfriend, Marco Gumabao, and a boatman, Allan Paule.

“Fantastica” - Co-produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films, directed by Barry Gonzales, this fantasy-comedy stars Vice Ganda whose family owns a perya or carnival that is facing financial problems. He finds help in Richard Gutierrez as a prince from a kingdom in another dimension called Fantastica, who’ll help if he could help locate the missing princesses of Fantastica, played by Loisa Andalio, Maymay Entrata and Kisses Delavin. Also starring Dingdong Dantes, Jaclyn Jose, Ronnie Alonte, Edward Barber and Donny Pangilinan.

“The Girl in the Orange Dress” - A romantic comedy directed by Jay Abello and produced by Quantum Films and MJM Films. Jericho Rosales stars as a big movie star who finds romance in an ordinary girl wearing an orange dress, played by Jessy Mendiola. The nosey press then hounds them to find out the girl’s true identity. Also starring Sheena Halili, Ria Atayde, Hanna Ledesma, with cameo appearances by Luis Manzano, Derek Ramsay and Jennylyn Mercado.

“Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles” - An action comedy produced by MZet, APT and CCM Productions, directed by Mike Tuviera. It stars Coco Martin as Jack, Maine Mendoza as Emily and Vic Sotto as Popoy, dedicated cops who are facing a big crime syndicate. With Ronaldo Valdez, Tirso Cruz III, Paolo Ballesteros, Wally Bayola, Jose Manalo, Mark Lapid and many more.

In October, the final four entries to complete the Magic 8 movies in the festival were chosen, based on completed films. These are: “Rainbow’s Sunset” - A family drama produced by Heaven’s Best Productions, this is written by Eric Ramos and directed by Joel Lamangan. Eddie Garcia stars as a retired senator who decides to come out of the closet when he learns that his long time lover Tony Mabesa is dying. His very patient and understanding wife is played by Gloria Romero. Their three children played by Tirso Cruz III, Aiko Melendez and Sunshine, plus their own families, are all affected by his decision to admit he’s a closet queen. Also starring Max Collins, Tanya Gomez, Jim Pebanco, Sue Prado, Shido Roxas, Ross Pesigan and Marcus Madrigal.

“One Great Love” - Produced by Regal Entertainment, written by Gina Marissa Tagasa and directed by Eric Quizon. This is a romantic drama about a girl, Kim Chiu as Zyra, torn between two lovers, JC De Vera as Carl, her boyfriend who has deep emotional problems, and Dennis Trillo as Ian, her best friend and shoulder to cry on. Supported by Miles Ocampo, Marlo Mortel and Eric Quizon as Kim’s dad.

“Mary, Marry Me” - Produced by Ten17P and Tin Can Productions under the direction of RC de los Reyes, this is a romcom about an unusual love triangle. Real life sisters Toni and Alex Gonzaga portray sisters both named Mary who fall for Sam Milby. So which one will get Sam in the end?

“Otlum” - A horror flick produced by Horseshoe Productions and written and directed by Joven Tan. This stars Buboy Villar as a young man who wants to belong to a barkada composed of Jerome Ponce, Michelle Vito, Vitto Marquez and newcomers Ricci Rivero and Danzel Fernandez. His would be friends convince him to stay overnight in an abandoned orphanage which turns out to be haunted and this starts all their scary experiences in the movie.

Last Sunday, the traditional Parade of Stars to help promote the entries in the annual festival was held at Paranaque, the host city.  It so happened that it was raining all day last Sunday and the grounds where the floats were supposed to start their parade got so drenched and wet that many floats got stuck deeply in the mud and cannot move anymore.

These floats include “Mary, Marry Me”, “Rainbow’s Sunset”, “Aurora”, “Jack Em Popoy” and “Otlum”. How sad as they spent so much for their floats but they weren’t able to join the parade at all. Only the floats for “Fantastica”, “The Girl in the Orange Dress” and “One Great Love” were able to continue with the parade’s designated route. Next year, the host city will be Taguig and we hope that they’ll put the floats on concrete and not on muddy grounds like what happened this year.

Why Broadcaster Niña Taduran Is Currently Missing As Co-Anchor Of Raffy Tulfo In The Hit Afternoon Show On Radyo Cinco, 'Wanted Sa Radyo'

BROADCASTER Niña TADURAN has become a familiar voice at 2 PM as the co-anchor of Raffy Tulfo in the daily sumbungan ng bayan show, “Wanted sa Radyo”, on Radyo Cinco. She has become a virtual referee in the public service show, as she helps in solving the cases of warring parties that they tackle in the show. Her fans are now missing her soothing voice every afternoon and they’re asking what happened to her.

Well, this veteran radio journalist of 28 years in the broadcast industry is currently on leave from radio and TV as she’s the 3rd nominee of the Anti-Crime and Terrorism through Community Involvement and Support or ACT-CIS partylist. She’s running to expand her reach in providing public service to those who are deprived of their basic rights and services, especially on matters concerning health.

“I’ve been into public service for a long time now,” she says. “I’m an advocate of our OFWs or Overseas Filipino Workers who are oppressed abroad. I plan to push for a creation of a center that will offer hotel-like services for families having problems with their employer services and to help the family they left behind here.”

She also aims to help in poverty alleviation. “A collaboration between local government units and TESDA can empower out-of-school youth and also housewives to be more productive. I also want to help the LGBT community in obtaining equal rights and privileges as human beings and eradicate the stigma against them.”

But her primary advocacy is championing the rights of women and children. “I plan to push for legislation that will safeguard their welfare and interest by giving stiffer punishment to those who violate their rights and abuse them.”

Nina’s family is from Iriga City and she has two daughters aged 19 and 9 from a previous marriage. She says she is running for congress with the blessings of Raffy Tulfo, with whom she’s been working for 20 years now. Raffy believes in her so much and one of her running mates as an anti-crime crusader is Raffy’s own wife. He told Nina that “manalo or matalo, I’m always welcome to come back as his co-anchor in ‘Wanted sa Radyo’.”

Harry Roque comes from a family pastors, teachers and lawyers. He majored in economic and political science at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1986, his bachelor of laws from UP in 1990 and his master of laws with merits from the London School of Economics in 1996. He was a law professor at UP for 15 years and he now misses teaching. Some of the notable cases he handled as a lawyer are the Maguindanao Massacre and the Jennifer Laude cases. In 2016, he became a congressman for Kabayan (Kabalikat ng Mamamayan) and he authored the Universal Health Care Bill. He was appointed by Pres. Duterte to be the presidential Spokesperson in October, 2017, along with being Presidential Adviser for Human Rights.

Transportation Sec. Arthur Tugade & Public Works Sec. Mark Villar Meet The Press To Explain Their Latest Projects In The Govt's Build Build Build Program

TRANSPORTATION Sec. Arthur Tugade, Public Works Sec. Mark Villar and Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) Director Vince Dizon met with the entertainment press and the first question they encountered is about the embarrassing Kayo ang Boss Ko toilets in PNR stations that went viral on the net, made without any partion and which the COA says cost about P295 million.

“We just want to make it clear na ang kalihim noon na si Mar Roxas ang nagpatayo niyan at tinawag nilang world class,” says Sec. Tugade. “Sabi ng mga tao noon, Wow! Pero nang makita namin, Ngek! pala. May mga kontratista raw yan na nung matanggap ang down payment, bigla na lang nawala, hindi tinapos. So, sa dating administrasyon ho yan, hindi po sa amin.”

Tugade is one of the most hardworking secretaries of the current administration. He is deadset on completing the LRT-1 extension project from Baclaran to Sucat and Cavite in 2021 which was delayed by right of way problems. With improvements he instituted, NAIA is now out of the list of the world’s worst airports and 8 local airports were awarded with on-time performance ratings. To further boost tourism in Bohol, the new airport in Panglao Island will soon open and we no longer have to land on Tagbilaran. Don't Miss The Second Pista Ng Pelikulang Pilipino Showing Eight Original Entries With Action, Comedy, Drama, Romance From August 15 To 21

 

THE FIRST PISTA NG PELIKULANG PILIPINO was held in August of last year and it was very successful. It had 12 entries, some of which were movies that have already been shown in other local festivals like “Paglipay”, “Hamog” and “Patay na si Hesus”. One of the most acclaimed entries then was “Bar Boys”, for which Odette Khan won several best supporting actress awards in her role as a terror law professor.

But the topgrosser at the box office last year was “100 Tula Para Kay Stella”, made by Viva Entertainment, written and directed by Jason Paul Laxamana. Now, Jason is back with a bang with no less than two entries in this year’s PPP. His first entry is again from Viva, reuniting the “100 Tula” stars Bela Padilla and JC Santos in “The Day After Valentine’s Day”, with Bela as Lani, a smart young woman who helps Kai, a broken man, to fix his problematic life.

His second entry is “Bakwit Boys”, produced by T Rex Entertainment, which he calls a youth-oriented provincial musical about four brothers (Ryle Santiago, Nico Natividad, Vince Larena and Mackie Empuerto) whose home was destroyed by a super typhoon. They relocate to a province where a rich girl, played by Devon Seron, discovers their talent in singing and helps them record their songs that get played on radio.

Tina Monzon Palma Anchors ANC's 'New Moon', A Series Of Four Shot Films Made To Commemorate The First Anniversary Of The War In Marawi

TINA MONZON PALMA will host ANC’s commemoration of the Marawi Siege with four short films made by four Maranaos who lived through the horrors of war to tell their own personal experiences about the heroism, sacrifice and resilience of the people of Marawi. This is what they call collaborative journalism in their “New Moon” series. They could easily ask their own reporters to do docus about the Marawi war but they opted to contact the Maranaos so that they themselves can chronicle their own stories on film.

The ABS News Channel contacted students from the Mindanao State University in Marawi who experienced the war first hand, did a lot of brainstorming about the possible topics for the docus, then chose four young filmmakers to do their own 8 to 9 minute films with a funding of P30,000 per film. Chosen were one female and three males. Three of them were transported by ANC to Manila and presented in a special presscon at ABS-CBN. One of them failed to come to Manila, Omar Ali, as he can’t leave his work with the ARRM.

Sittie Alyssah Diron is 20 years old, taking up journalism. Her film is “Matou”, the story of Mastora Dadayan or Matou, a farmer-fisherman who lost his wife and unborn child in the war. He has an older son to take care of and hopes that he can pick up the broken pieces of his life now that peace has returned to Marawi although it’s said there’s a threat of the war, Part 2.

Geral Jan Nino Omelio is from Bislig, Surigao but was staying in MSU Marawi taking up development communication when the war broke out. He was sleeping when he heard gunshots and it turned out the Mautes are invading the city. He thought it would last only overnight but the war raged on for 153 days. His film is “Kanlungan” or Haven, a place for children orphaned by the war. It focuses on Zomaya and her siblings suffering from PTSS (post traumatic stress syndrome) as they recall a simpler happier life before the Marawi siege.

Ali Yusoph is an engineer who teaches math and engineering in MSU. He was in school when terrorists attacked the city. His film is “Islam”, where he stresses that Islam is a religion of peace, love and tolerance, respecting every human being, but his fundamendalists kababayans led by the Maute group distorted it and resorted to violence. He and his wife Sur have since learned the value of patience and are now trying to help rebuild Marawi after it was laid to waste by the war.

Omar Ali took film workshops at Mowelfund and was once an assistant of Joyce Bernal. He’s the recipient of the Eisenhower Fellowship in 2013 to study American Film and TV. He’s now an asst. cabinet sec. at the ARRM and Marawi Rehabilitation. His film is “Suicide Squad”, about a group of rescuers trained for natural disasters who never thought they’ll use their training in saving people from all walks of life during the siege of Marawi.

Don’t miss these four relevant films that will air starting this Monday night within “Early Edition”, “Top Story” and “The World Tonight”. One film will be shown from Monday to Thursday and then, on Friday, they will all be shown together in ‘ANC Presents: New Moon’, hosted by veteran journalist Tina Monzon-Palma. What’s their secret? “I think our audience see na we really enjoy what we’re doing and we also enjoy each other’s company,” says Arnold. “Masarap na feeling din yung marami kaming nahahatiran ng sariwang balita at napapasaya namin ang kanilang mga umaga. Worth it yung paggising namin ng 4 AM everyday.”

Viva Artists Agency Properties Who Renewed And/Or Signed Up To Be Exclusive Kapamilya Actresses Include GMA Starstruck 2 Winner Ryza Cenon

WHILE WAITING for the presscon of “DOTGA” to start, a contract signing at another conference room just ended and we saw Viva Artists Agency top boss, Veronique del Rosario, coming out with some ABS-CBN bosses, along with one of their stars, Yam Concepcion.

Veronique confirmed to us that Yam signed up officially with ABS-CBN while Anne Curtis has also renewed her contract as a Kapamilya.

Their latest contract star to sign up with ABS-CBN is Ryza Cenon, who was the big winner in GMA-7’s Startstruck artista search in 2004. Ryza was last seen in the long running hit that just ended, “Ika-6 na Utos”, where her role as the villainous Georgia really made its mark with afternoon audiences.

Let’s see if she’d be as successful as other Kapuso stars who became a Kapamilya, like Angel Locsin, and not follow in the footsteps of Jewel Mische or Louise de los Reyes.

GMA Broadcaster Joseph Morong Gets To Host Own Show, 'Fact Or Fake', On GMA News Online Youtube Channel Starting January 1, 2018, 5 PM

JOSEPH MORONG is a regular broadcast journalist at GMA News and Public Affairs assigned in Malacanang to cover the activities of Pres. Duterte. He’s a recipient of the McLuhan Fellowship award in 2015 from Canada that encourages responsible journalism. He was chosen to receive the fellowship for his excellent reportage of the issues surrounding the peace process in Mindanao, especially the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law.

He is now given his biggest break as host of his own show, “Fact or Fake”, which is very timely in this era of fake news. This is part of GMA One Online Exclusives on GMA’s youtube channel. He’ll be with Atom Araullo and Gabbi Garcia.

Does he feel any pressure with his first hosting job? “Siempre may pressure kasi we’re touching on something controversial, so we have to be careful as our goal is for the public to be able to discern what is fact and what is fake news,” he says. “We have to be sure kung ano yung ilalabas namin para hindi kami ma-criticize na naglalabas ng fake news. I promise to do my best para maging maayos and very informative and truthful ang bawat episode na ilalabas namin. Even the big bosses of thew GMA news department are very much involved to make sure we have a show of good and top quality.”

The show will start airing tomorrow on New Year’s Day 2018, and will be aired every Monday thereafter at 5 PM.
