Hit Showbands Of The 70s Reunite For A Grand Reunion Concert

THE NEW New Minstrels and Circus Band were the reigning show bands when we’re still single in the 70s. Every weekend, we’d go either to The Flames or Rino’s at Roxas Blvd. to dance with friends while they’re playing. Since it’s martial law then, then we’d just wait for the curfew to be over before we go home. Here they are now reunited in a very special show that started at the CCP Complex last Friday, “The Greatest Hits Reunion Concert”. Tonight, they will be seen at the University of Baguio and on September 28, Saturday, they’ll perform at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu.

Produced by Viva Live Inc. and Redstone Media Productions, relive the hit music of the 70s like The Harder I Try, I Just Don’t Want To Be Lonely, Celebration, Mr. Melody, One In A Million, There’s No Easy Way, Love The One You’re With, Wildflower and other songs from Motown, Santana, Barry Manilow, Earth Wind & Fire and many more, as sung by Hajji Alejandro, Tillie Moreno, Pat Castillo, Jacqui Magno, Basil Valdez, Louie Reyes, Ding Mercado, Joey Albert, Ray-An Fuentes, Chad Borja and Eugene Villaluz. Former Circus lead guitarist Rudy Lozano is the musical director.
The media partners of The Circus Band and The New Minstrels Greatest Hits Reunion Concert are the PBO TV Channel, Viva TV, The Philippine Star, The Manila Bulletin, People’s Journal, People’s Tonight, Mellow 94.7 and Crossover 105.1. Special thanks for the support of the Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines (OAAP) and Fernando’s Bakery. Tickets are available at Ticketnet 911-5555; SM Tickets 470-2222; TicketWorld 891-9999; PICC 789-4734; and Viva Concerts 687-7236.
