Martin Andanar is now working with Erwin Tulfo in TV-5

MARTIN ANDANAR is happy to be working with Erwin Tulfo in TV 5's hardhitting new morning show, "Sapul!". "When I first worked as a reporter for GMA in the early 90s, they made me cover the police beat and that's where I met Erwin. He was with ABS then but he's generous enought to become my mentor. Now, we're both with TV 5 na and I serve as his foil in the show. I argue with him for argument's sake. Tagakontra ako. 'Sapul' is a dream show for newscasters like us kasi we're also allowed to do commentaries. We aim to touch base not only with the A-B crowd but also with C, D and E masa viewers."

He's thankful to TV 5 because they allow him to continue his studies. He took various courses in AIM, Northwestern Illinois Universtiy, Georgetown University, and the last was in Harvard University where he took a fellow's program for 5 weeks to help broaden his horizon. When we first met Martin at GMA, he was newly married. He's now 35 and his eldest child Alexa is already 10 years while the youngest boy, Vince, is 7. Both study at PAREF School. We notice he lost weight. "Intentionally," he says. "Kasi, I ballooned to 230 lbs. so I did a lot of swimming and is now down to 195, which is better suited for my 6'2" height."
