WILL DIEGO LOYZAGA'S BEING A DAD HURT HIS CAREER OR THE BOX OFFICE TAKE OF HIS NEW MOVIE, 'WILL YOU BE MY EX?'

DIEGO LOYZAGA attended the presscon of his movie with Julia Barretto, “Will You Be My Ex?”, last Sunday via zoom, but press people were warned not to ask any personal questions on his being a father now.

Well, at this point, there’s no more need for direct confirmation from Diego since he already posted his photo with the baby.

Diego turned 18 on May 21 and soon after that, he posted his photo with the infant pressed on his chest, saying: “The best birthday gift ever.”

Honestly, we don’t think being a dad would have any negative effect of Diego’s acting career.

To begin with, he is not part of an established love team so no fans would get jealous.  Also, he is now accepted more as a serious actor after going solo in one Vivamax movie after another.

We think he has proven his acting prowess in the drama flicks he did, like “Death of a Girlfriend”, “Dulo” and “Greed”. Even his dad, Cesar Montano, already had a wife and kids when he became an actor.

So even if he’s a certified father now, Diego would still have a productive career since he’s actually one of the busiest actors at the Viva camp.

Diego is currently in Perth, the capital of Western Australia where the mother of his baby is currently based.

This is very far from Sydney, where Diego was raised by his mom Teresa, which is in New South Wales.

Diego has fallen in love with scuba diving and he is now a bonafide scuba diver, something which he is says is only for the brave and adventurous.

He loves the beach and we’re not surprised he’s enjoying his stay in Perth as it is surrounded with beautiful sandy beaches.

He is very proud of his movie with Julia.

“We’ve known each other for a long time and we’ve worked in ‘Mirabella’ before sa ABS-CBN but this is the first time we got to do a movie together,” he says.

“Honestly, I had some apprehensions before we started the shoot kasi I know she’s good and I don’t wanna mess up anything.

"I told this to our director, Real Florido, I said I was nervous and couldn’t sleep the night before our first shooting day.”

But on the set, he quickly realized he had no reason to be nervous.

“Julia proved to be so sweet and we quickly became comfortable with each other. It was also fun catching up with her kasi matagal kaming hindi nakita.

"The movie has many heartbreaking scenes and I’m confident we did them all well, with the help of our director.

"We both discuss how to do a scene and then we ask Direk Real’s go signal for the executive so it was 100 percent teamwork.”

If ever, in real life, would he be willing to hook up again with someone who is his ex?

“At one point or another, may time naman na minahal natin ang ex natin, so although they’ve come and gone, I think the best thing to do is be a good person and just wish them all the best, para positive lang, no negativity.”
