MYSTERY-DRAMAS usually hit it big in teleseryes, like “Widow’s Web”, where the investigation on the death of a major character became so riveting as all the people around him became prime suspects.

So we are not surprised that GMA-7 has now come up with “Royal Blood”, another sprawling murder-mystery concerning a dysfunctional family, directed by Dominic Zapata.

The big powerhouse cast is led by Tirso Cruz III as Gustavo Royales, the patriarch of the very rich Royales Family.

When he is murdered, his illegitimate son, Dingdong Dantes as Napoleon or Napoy, becomes the prime suspect in his mysteriour demise.

Napoy is a motorcycle delivery boy working hard as a single dad for his daughter’s needs after his wife passed away.

He is facing a lot of financial problems but he never asked the help of his estranged father. But when Gustavo, a super wealth business tycoon, suddenly gets in touch with him trying to reconcile, he forgives his erring father.

He then becomes reunited with his half-brother and sister who do not seem to be happy to have him as part of their wealthy family.

Little does he know it will be the start of complications in his life as he will be accused of killing their own dad.

“Royal Blood” is a dramatic thunderbolt that will keep you on the edge of your seat as you follow each exciting episode to find out who really killed Gustavo.

GMA Network boasts of a stellar cast led by the real life married couple Megan Young as Diana, the ex-girlfriend and great love of Napoy and Mikael Daez as Kristoff, the half-brother of Napoy and husband of Diana.

Also in the cast are Rhian Ramos as Margaret, Gustavo’s conservative yet mysterious child with her own share of deep dark secrets; Dion Ignacio as Andrew, the ambitious and wily business-savvy husband of Margaret; Lianne Valentin as Beatrice, the witty and materialistic daughter of Gustavo; Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo as Tasha, the kind-hearted neighbor of Napoy who harbors secret feelings for him.

Playing a special and significant role in the program is multi-awarded actor Mr. Tirso Cruz III as Gustavo Royales, the rich and shrewd business tycoon and patriarch of the Royales family.

Also part of the series are Ces Quesada as Aling Cleofe, the head female servant of the Royales family; Benjie Paras as Otep, Napoy’s most trusted friend; Carmen Soriano as Camilla, the evil mother-in-law of Napoy; and Arthur Solinap as Emil Banez, a renowned investigator who will be in charge of the deciphering the murder mystery case.

Adding excitement to the show are Sparkle Teens James Graham as Louie, Andrew’s rebel son with his first wife; Aidan Veneracion as Archie, the son of Kristoff and Diana who constantly seeks his father’s approval; and Princess Aliyah as Anne, the bubbly daughter of Aling Cleofe; together with Sienna Stevens as Lizzie, Napoy’s adorable daughter. Also playing equally important roles are Andrew Schimmer and John Feir.

Dingdong Dantes says this is one of the most challenging drama series he has ever done.

“The story is really engaging every night and I play a very good role as someone accused of killing my own father,” he adds.

“And we have a really good cast na puro magagaling, so I’m really motivated and inspired when I’m doing scenes with them to make sure I give my best every time at nang hindi nila ako mapag-iwanan as they’re all very competent actors.”

With so many intriguing characters in the story, “Royal Blood” will surely hook you and keep you guessing about the identity of the killer or killers.
