VALERIE CONCEPCION is back to full villain mode in GMA Afternoon Prime’s new soap, ‘The Seed of Love’, after playing Shayne Sava’s biological mom in “Raising Mamay” last year.
“Sobrang maiinis sa akin ang viewers dito sa ‘The Seed of Love’ sa role ko as the scheming Alexa, a successful doctor,” she says.
“Obsessed ako rito kay Mike Tan as Bobby na naging boyfriend ako.
"Pero very demanding ako so he left me at hindi ko ma-accept na magpapakasal na siya kay Glaiza de Castro as Eileen, kaya nilasing ko siya so we can sleep together.
"Tapos, pinanakaw ko pa kay Boy2 Quizon yung sperm cells niya na stored sa laboratory to make sure magkakaanak ako sa kanya. I will really do everything para maagaw ko siya from Glaiza.”
She’s happy that “The Seed of Love” is finally being shown.
“It took us three years to complete it kasi inabot kami ng pandemic and Glaiza got married in Ireland and also here in our country.
"Then the kids we used when we started taping, bawal nang mag-work during the pandemic so they had to modify the script to accommodate the changes.
"In the meantime, I started a new show with Jennylyn Mercado, ‘Love, Die, Repeat’, but she got pregnant and it was shelved.
"But now, she’s ready to go back to work again kaya we might resume the taping again soon.”
He enjoyed taping “The Seed of Love” as everyone is so professional.
"“It’s always nice to act with Glaiza as she’s a compelling actress. Also Mike Tan who is also very effective in his role as man torn between us ni Glaiza.
"And of course, it’s a joy working with Director Ricky Davao, who’s an awarded actor himself so he’s really one of the best in the business, as he can guide his actors in interpreting their roles well.”
Valerie is such a powerful contravida so all her co-stars should watch as she can eat them all alive.
We think she deserves to win an acting award soon.
Valerie won the best new movie actress award for the youth-oriented show, “Click”, then she got pregnant at 16 and raised her love child, Heather Fiona, all by herself.
Her daughter is now 19 years old and already a college graduate so she is might proud of Heather’s accomplishment.
With regard to her personal life, she is happily married to Guam-based hubby Francis Sunga.
“We just celebrated our 6th anniversary last January. Palitan kami ng pagbisita, ako sa Guam, siya naman, dito and it works. We always miss each other.”
She is so happy that Francis is not only a good husband but also a great stepdad to Heather.
“I never really expected that I’d still find Mr. Right and be happily married. At that time, ayoko na talagang makipagrelasyon kahit kanino kasi happy na naman ako sa buhay ko with my career and my daughter.
"But when a friend introduced me to Francis, we had an instant connection. Talking to him, I felt like we’ve known each other for a long time.
"So when he proposed to me, I said yes, and now, six years later, we’re still so in love with each other.”
So how do they handle their being in a long–distance relationship?
“Thanks to modern technology we can always do facetime with each other.
"Araw-araw yan. Importante yung pagkakaroon ng constant and open communication everyday in any relationship.
"We always have time to listen to each other’s everyday stories.”
