MIGO ADECER ON HIS ROLE AS THE DASHING CITY GUY WHO COMES BETWEEN TWO SISTERS IN 'ANAK NI WARAY VS. ANAK NI BIDAY;

MIGO ADECER is so fortunate that right after “Sahaya”, GMA-7 now has given him a new show right away. “Anak ni Waray vs. Anak ni Biday”, which starts airing this Monday night right after “25 Oras”.

He plays the lucky role of Cocoy, the charming city guy who comes between sisters Barbie Forteza as Ginalyn and Kate Valdez as Caitlyn.

At the presscon, someone asked if girls have fought over him before and if he’s really worth fighting for. “Honestly, kahit sobrang guwapo ng isang guy, hindi siya dapat pinag-aawayan,” he replies. “Just get another guy or just play with. Paglaruan nyo lang siya, then look for a better guy.”

How does it feel that he quickly had a follow up project when his co-stars in “Sahaya”, Miguel Tanfelix and Bianca Umali, do not have a new assignment yet with GMA? “I guess I’m just lucky and I’m very thankful to GMA for their trust in me. That’s why I’m really doing my best para mas pagbutihin nang husto ang trabaho ko.”

It seems that he as the Starstruck Season 6 male winner and Klea Pineda as the female winner are both just hitting their stride now after more than three years since they won. Klea herself is doing well in the hit afternoon drama, “Magkaagaw”.

“I’m happy for her. Ever since, we said naman na hindi kami nagmamadali. You have to gain muna a lot of experience before they wpuld give you bigger and more challenging assignments.”

But last year wasn’t really that good for him after he got arrested to a minor traffic accident, right? “Yes, it was bad, but I guess it’s an experience that I have to go through kasi I learned a lot from it. Grabe yung naging journey ko to maturity and adulthood, but it prepared me for a lot of things.

"When you did something bad, pinapalo ka, di ba? So napalo ako. From there, you have two choices. Either you do it again or you learn from it. And I chose to learn from it. Nalagay ko sa ayos ang work ethic ko, naging more professional ako and I really took my job more seriously.”

It’s good GMA-7 didn’t dump him after that incident which generated a lot of bad publicity? “Yes, and I’m just thankful that kahit nangyari yun, hindi ako pinabayaan ng GMA, they gave me ‘Sahaya’, which really did well, and I even got to do my very first movie, ‘Black Lipstick’.

"So the year started bad but naging maganda naman ang ending. And now, 2020 is starting right for me with ‘Anak ni Waray vs. Anak ni Biday’ and also, ‘All Out Sundays’ where I get to sing and dance naman, so sana, magtuloy-tuloy lang.”

Migo is very honest in saying he won’t be linked to his co-stars as he has a non-showbiz girlfriend. “Her name is Katrina Mercado and one year na rin kami. We just celebrated our first anniversary. Mas okay na yung hindi taga-showbiz ang karelasyon mo. Mas tahimik.”
