Singkuwento International FilmFest Shown At Leandro Locsin Theatre At NCAA From February 19 To 27

AND JUST LIKE that, the first month of the year, January, is now about to end and coming up soon is February, where we will have an international film festival, the Singkuwento International Film Festival to be held in cooperation with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, from February 19 to 27, at the Leandro Locsin Theatre at the NCCA Bldg. in Intramuros, Manila.

The Singkuwento opening film is Louie Ignacio’s “Laut” about Badjaos who resettled in Pampanga starring Barbie Forteza and the closing film is Joel Lamangan’s “Sekyu” about a security guard who kills his own wife by accident starring Allen Dizon.



The full length local films that will have their world premiere in Singkuwento are “Pisara (Blackboard)” by Da Palagtiw starring Ahron Villena and Ritz Azul as a young special education teacher afflicted with epilepsy, “Atras” directed Johnny Mahinay which a cast of newcomers, “Sugarol” by Jojo Nadela with Flora Gasser, “Partee” by Jill Singson Urdaneta with Kiko Matos and Felix Roco, “Isang Hakbang” by Mike Magat starring Snooky Serna and Ricardo Cepeda, and “Ligaw” by Paolo Endrinal starring Melissa Ricks and Rico Barrera.

Actually, we’ll have a filmfest every month from February to April, which is good new for serious aficionados of good local films. Next, we’ll give you the entries in the CineFilipino Filmfest in March and the entries in the Sinag Maynila Filmfest in April.
