Matteo Guidicelli And Sarah Geronimo On The Possibility Of Them Settling Down Soon

MATTEO GUIDICELLI was launched with Shaina Magdayao as the lead stars of “Single/ Single”, the first teleserye on the cable channel Cinema One about wealth management, co-produced with the Philippine Star. As usual, the racer turned actor is besieged once again with questions concerning his girlfriend, Sarah Geronimo. After rumors that they’re breaking up, Sarah proved that it’s not true when she showed up at the triathlon event in Cebu that Matteo joined last week and surprised him with a congratulatory kiss later, which made their fans so “kilig”. Since everything is obviously okay between them now, is Matteo about ready to settle down with her?

“You know, as early as 20 years old, gusto ko nang magpakasal nang maaga,” he says. “I’m 25 now, but I’ve realized I still have a lot of things to fix before we even think of settling down. Basta we’re very happy as of now.”

Doesn’t he get annoyed when the press keeps on asking him about Sarah and his lovelife? “I guess it cannot be helped. It comes with the territory.”

Is he in good terms now with Sarah’s parents? “Okay ang relationship ko with her parents. I have so much respect for them. I care for this relationship so much and I really want to keep it, so I wish tigilan na sana ang questions about her parents kasi wala namang issue. ”

He adds that everything in his life is actually working smoothly. “Basta masaya ako na maraming magagandang nangyayari sa buhay ko ngayon, sa personal life ko, with my relationship, with my work. I have a new TV show, ito ngang ‘Single/Single’ and the concert we did in Music Museum, ‘Dreamboys’, was a hit. I also just finished a new action movie, ‘Tupang Ligaw’. Lahat, positive lang.”

How is it working with Shaina Magdayao in “Single/Single”? “You know, kabado ako noong umpisa kasi we’ve never worked before and I know she is a much experienced actress kasi she started as a child star. But after a few days of taping, nag-jell kami agad. Siguro kasi Visayan siya at Visayan din ako, so nagkasundo kami agad. Maganda story ng ‘Single/Single’ kasi we play characters both named Joey. But siya, her name is spelled as Joee. We are two single strangers who, for some reason, are forced to live together and share a condo unit. It will tackle the stories of today’s millenials, giving inputs about how to handle finances well and how to plan your own career path in the complicated modern world we have today.”

The show is written by Palanca winner Lilit Reyes and directed by indie filmmaker Pepe Diokno (“Enkwentro”, “Above the Clouds”), with Cinema One best supporting actress Anna Luna (for “Bendor”) as Shaina’s career-driven buddy and theatre actor Brian Sy as Shaina’s gay best friend. Mara Lopez and Matt Daclan will also play supporting roles. The trendsetting “Single/Single” will be shown every Saturday at 8 PM on CInema One (Skycable Ch. 56) for 13 weeks, starting August 29, with replays on Wednesdays at 8:30 PM and Sundays at 10PM.
