Akihiro Blanco Glad To Star In His Own Movie And To Do Projects With Nora And Sharon

AKIHIRO BLANCO is just a runnerup in TV5’s “Artista Academy” but he has now overtaken winner Vin Abrenica as he plays the lead in a movie, unlike Vin who has yet to make a movie. Aki stars in the CineFilipino FIlmfest entry, “Mga Alaala ng Tag-ulan”, written and directed by Ato Bautista who gave Carlo Aquino a best actor award for the Cinemalaya entry “Sa Aing Pagkagising sa Kamulatan”. “I feel so blessed na nagkapelikula agad ako,” says Aki.

“Akala ko nung una, nananaginip lang ako. Utang na loob ko ito kay Tito Mon Confiado, who plays my dad in the movie. Good friend siya ng mom ko and so he considered me for the film which is a coming of age story and a love story. I play a teenager who’ll fall in love with an older woman, played by singer-actress Mocha Uson. Kasama rin namin dito sina Issa Litton at Lance Raymundo. I enjoyed making my first movie kasi mababait silang lahat sa akin kahit baguhan lang ako. Kahit gumawa pa ko ng iba, hindi ko na makakalimutan itong very first movie ko.”

How’s Mocha in their love scene? “Matapang siya. Sanay siya magpa-sexy. Siempre, palaban naman ako kahit first kissing scene ko yung ginawa namin. Mabait siya, kaya naging comfortable ako agad sa kanya. Nakarelate din ako sa role ko as an innocent teenager na virgin pa kasi ganun din po ako in real life.” He’s thankful to TV5 for also giving him the chance to work with Nora Aunor and Sharon Cuneta. He’s with Nora in the Joel Lamangan telemovie, “When I Fall in Love”, and he plays Sharon’s son in the new dramedy, “Madame Chairman”, also helmed by Joel Lamangan. “At happy rin akong makasama si Mr. Ogie Alcasid sa gag show na ‘Tropa Mo Ko Unli’ kasi kaming mga Artista Academy discoveries, isinama rin doon,” he happily adds.
