Jodi Sta. Maria's 'Be Careful With My Heart' Ends In December In Time For The Film Version

WE SAW DIRECTOR Jeffrey Jeturian having dinner with Quantum Films Producer Joji Alonso at Victorino’s and they told us that the premiere of their Cinemalaya entry, “Ekstra, the Bit Player”, will be on July 28, 6 PM, at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Main Theatre. Direk Jeff is an unabashed Vilmanian and directing Vilma has always been a dream for him. Now, it’s a dream come true and he’s so fulfilled because Gov. Vi is everything he imagined her to be: not only a good actress but also a conscientious worker who’s nice to everyone she works with, a good person.

Direk Jeff is also the helmer of the most successful soap on ABS-CBN, “Be Careful with My Heart”. And now, he’s also directing it’s movie version and he will have an entry in the coming Metro-Manila Filmfest. Not only that, he’s just been informed that their show, since it’s a big hit, will be extended until December.

“We’ll end Book One with the wedding of Maya and Sir Chief,” he says. “Then we’ll start Book Two with their life as husband and wife. At tatakbo yung hanggang just before the movie opens in theatres on Christmas Day. No, the movie version is not a recap of what happened on TV. Alam na ng mga tao yun, e. What we’ll show is what happens to Jodi Sta. Maria, Richard Yap, and the rest of the characters after the story on TV has ended. Bale continuation yun ng TV show.”

Jodi Sta. Maria is understandably nervous about the whole thing. “We’re all happy in the cast of our show na napasama kami sa filmfest,” she says. “This is another milestone for us, but we’re also tense kasi this is a new challenge for all of us, from the TV screen to the big screen.”

Jodi turned 31 on June 16 and she says her birthday wish is for their show to continue to rate and for their movie to do well at the filmfest box office. “For myself, wala na akong mahihingi pa as I’m already so blessed. Parang sobra naman kung hihiling pa ako ng para sa sarili ko.”

Well, yes, what more can she ask for? Both her career and lovelife are going on very well as she has a very devoted boyfriend in newly elected Cavite Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla who’s 7 years younger than her.
