Ogie Alcasid Just Waiting For June 30 To Leave Gma And Move To TV5

ABOUT REGINE’s husband, Ogie Alcasid, he still won’t confirm that he’s moving to TV5. But someone very reliable told us that it’s already a done deal. They’re just waiting for Ogie’s contract with GMA-7 to expire on June 30 before they make a formal announcement.

Ogie got an offer he cannot refuse. GMA management no longer made a counter offer as it’s just too big. It’s Ogie felt that even if he’d have five or ten more years in his showbiz career, he still won’t get that kind of income from GMA. So it’s really a matter of “pera-pera lang yan.” He’s just being practical. His first show will be a gag show similar to “Bubble Gang”, which means he’s definitely leaving this 15-year old gag show on GMA-7. It’ll be recalled that before Ogie and Michael V moved to GMA, they were also doing a gag show on TV5, “Tropang Trumpo”, with Gelli de Belen and Carmina Villaroel. Carmina is now with ABS-CBN but Gelli is also back with TV5 so she and Ogie will topbill the new gag show.

On the part of TV5, let’s hope they get their ROI (return on investment) from this latest acquisition. As we all know, they paid billions in signing up the likes of Aga Muhlach, Sharon Cuneta, Nora Aunor, Willie Revillame and other name stars, but they have yet to get the high ratings they aspire to achieve when they got these celebrities.
