AFTER RADIO AND TV, Mr. Fu (aka Jeffrey Espiritu) is now also a recording star with an album, “Wow I Lahveet” released by Sony Music with his song “Wow Megano’n?” “The album is a collection of songs often heard in my show on 103.5 Wow FM like Lea Salonga’s ‘If You’re Not Here By My Side’, Sharon and Ogie’s new version on ‘Nandito Ako’, Judy Ann and Ryan Agoncillo’s ‘I’ll Have to Say I Love You in a Song’, Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion’s ‘When I Met U’, and many more,” he says. “This is a good memento of this very eventful year in my life. Maraming ups but my dad passed this year while working in Saudi. I feel so sad kasi, pagbalik niya rito this Christmas, I’m supposed to tell him he won’t have to work in Saudi anymore as I can already support our family. Pero hindi nangyari. Isa pang nawala this year is Wyngard Tracy, na kinukuha kong manager but he rejected me. Pero he was the one who told me, magladlad ka na, and I did at mas bumongga nga ang career ko.”
Is it true he took a pass at Survivor 2’s Suzuki Sadatzugu who’s now committed to Arnell Ignacio? “Naku, nakita ko nga siya kahapon with Arnell, pinukpok ka ng mike. Sabi ko, anong sinasabi mong hinipuan kita? Naghaharutan kami noon sa dressing room at wala akong naaalalang hinipuan ko siya. Kasi kung hinipuan ko siya, dapat matandaan ko. O baka hindi ko matandaan dahil hindi impressive ang nahipo ko?” he laughs.
