Julie Tactacan-Defensor speaks about husband

JULIE TACTACAN, the wife of QC mayoralty candidate Michael Defensor, says she was against her husband's running in the coming election. "We experienced kasi ang sarap ng maging simple citizens after he lost in his bid as senator," she says. "But we have to respect his decision as he really wants to serve the public again. It's in his blood kasi. He's the youngest elected QC councilor when he's 22 in 1992 and the youngest elected congressman at 25 for the 3rd district in 1995. At 31, youngest cabinet member naman siya, naging presidential chief of staff, DENR secretary and presidential adviser on housing at Chairman ng Housing and Urban Development Council. Marami rin siyang awards as a public servant."

Julie is 32 but she can pass for someone younger. "Madalas, napagkakamalan akong anak ni Mike, who's 40. We met in a wake when I was only 16. Pinagtanong niya ko at sabi sa kanya, hoy, 12 lang yan. Niligawan niya ko and I was 18 when we were married. Ang eldest namin ngayon, si Micaela, is 14. Madalas, people think we're sisters. Very loving si Mike. Five times na niya kong pinakasalan. Una sa judge, then sa church, tapos sa Las Vegas, then in a cruise and last sa Cana, where the first miracle of Jesus took place and we had a renewal of vows. We have three other kids: Miguel, who's 11, Mico, 8 and Mica, 7."
