SHOWBIZ CENTRAL had a special interview with Drs. Manny and Pie Calayan. Is it true Dr. Pie became an "addict sa retoke" and her face was disfigured because of this? "Never. Hindi talaga nagpaparetoke si doktora. Takot siya roon. Nagkasakit talaga siya ng adrenal fatigue syndrome, a hormonal disorder caused by too much dieting and stress. Bumigay ang adrenal glands niya kaya pinagpahinga ko muna siya sa States at siya ang nagma-manage ng branch namin sa L.A."
In a phone interview, Dr. Pie herself said her ailment cannot be diagnosed here in our country. "Yung adrenal glands kasi is a very small organ on top of the kidney so, apparently, hindi yun pinapansin dito. But in the States, na-detect nila."
How did she feel about the rumors? "Natatawa ko at naaawa rin kasi baka makarma sila at sila naman ang magkaroon ng ganung sakit. Nagpapasalamat na lang ako sa lahat ng nagdasal para gumaling ako. Sa mga nagdasal namang matodas ako, pasensiya na lang kasi nandito pa ako."
