KYLIE VERSOZA PLAYS A SUGAR BABY IN DIREK JASON PAUL LAXAMANA'S MOVIE ABOUT SUGAR DADDIES AND SUGAR DATING, 'BABY BOY, BABY GIRL'

MISS INTERNATIONAL 2016 KYLIE VERSOZA is reunited with Marco Gumabao in the romantic comedy, “Baby Boy, Baby Girl”, which is about having a sugar daddy or a sugar mommy.

This looks like it’s common nowadays as we have Sugar Dating websites on the net. What was her reaction when the project was first offered to her?

“I was surprised so what I did is do my own research about it,” says Kylie.

“Our director, Jason Paul Laxamana, told me there are websites about sugar dating so I took a look and I interviewed my friends about it.

"So I learned, ah ok, may nangyayari naman pala talagang ganito and my first reaction is we cannot just judge the people who do it.

"Most of them have their own reasons and I became more compassionate with them.”

It’s not only the sugar babies but also their sugar daddy or mommy who needs understanding.

“Kasi parang sponsor lang sila and, in their transaction, they don’t necessarily want to have sex but just friendship or companionship kasi they’re lonely.”

In the movie, Kylie is Josie and Marco is Seb, former sweethearts who both struggle financially.

Marco works as a janitor and can hardly make both ends meet, so he resorts to sugar dating and soon, he can afford to have a more expensive life.

Kylie is a start up entrepreneur who failed in her business and now struggles in online selling.

When she sees her ex-BF leading a more extravagant lifestyle, she inquires about it and learns that he is into sugar dating.

She then asks him to help her how to find a sugar daddy so she can pay all her bills and have a more luxurious life.

Marco proves to be a good teacher and soon, Kylie is also successful in finding a sugar daddy who shoulders all expenses.

But as Marco teaches Kylie, his romantic feelings for her are rekindled, but Jose is now so into sugar dating that she no longer has time for Marco.

Will their love story have a Part Two or will having a comfortable life through sugar dating make them forget their feelings of love for each other?

Off cam, didn’t they entertain any feelings for each other?

“Marco and I have been good friends for six years,” says Kylie.

“We done TV series like ‘Los Bastardos’ and movies like ‘My Husband, My Lover’, and although he is very attractive, I just want to keep our being good friends.

"I’m happier with what we have now, as it makes it easier for us to work together.

"I really admire him as an actor as he really works hard to be good in his craft.

"I want to be prepared for this movie so before we started shooting,

"I asked him to meet with me so we can study our roles together and magbatuhan kami ng lines.

"It really worked well for us kasi alam na namin what to do when we get on the set.”

Kylie says she’s delighted with “Baby Boy, Baby Girl” as it gave her the chance to work with Director Jason Paul Laxamana.

“I’ve seen most of his past films and I admire his work kaya I got excited to get to work with him.

"I really enjoyed working with him sa ang galing niya sa storytelling and he’s very funny kaya masaya kami sa set.”

Direk Jason Paul says he’s initially not sure if Kylie would be good for the role of Josie.

“But I saw her past films and I was very impressed, lalo na sa ‘Ikaw Lang ang Mahal’ where she played a dying girl.

"Sa shooting, I saw her discipline and determination to be in her character.

"Ibang Kylie ang ipapakita niya rito. She shows she’s good in goofball comedy and in chick flicks like this.”

“Baby Boy, Baby Girl” also stars Giselle Sanchez as Marco’s sugar mommy, Rey Abellana as Kylie’s sugar daddy, and Yen Durano, Gino Roque, Migo Valid and Andrea Babiera as the other sugar babies.

This will be shown in movie theaters nationwide starting March 22.
