ERIC EJERCITO is the eldest of six kids of actor and former Laguna Gov. ER Ejercito aka Jorge Estregan.
He took up filmmaking at the College of St. Benilde. He’s an actor, dancer, director and a music artist.
He used to be known as Eric E when he launched the song “Fearless” in 2018, which he himself wrote and performed. He also did his own music video with his own dance crew.
“I love Pop music in general, may it be western pop, K-pop groups or solo artists,” Eric says.
Early on, he was told that his “style and the way I look resembles the ‘Korean’ aesthetic” and this prompted him to research on the music genre & dove into it more and has since, in his own words, been “bitten by the (K-pop) bug.”
Eric also adds: “Before I dove into pop, I had a band throughout high school and college. I have a dance crew as well and we competed internationally. Through the years, it hit me to combine both.”
And it’s with that realization that he came to find himself in the type of music he’s currently in now, adding that his sound is made up of “a lot of inspiration of many combined.”
Eric now introduces his new single, the energetic and electro-tinged dance single titled “Fool.”
“The song has a touch of personal experience. It’s a very relatable song because I believe that everyone has a been fool for love once in their lives.
"There was a time in my life I didn’t realize my self worth but it helps you grow and make you a better person.”
To promote the song, he is collaborating with Viva to have a red carpet premiere launch with a tiktok dance challenge.
His own company, One Episode Film, also produced its music video, which he co-directed with L.A.-based director Jeff Centauri with a Korean leading lady, Na-Young Kim, and with guest back up dancers who are well known in the hiphop dance community.
The music video took five days to shoot.
Eric is also into acting. He took up acting workshops with Star Magic and did guestings in various shows. “Both music and acting are my love and passions,” he says.
He’s optimistic that “Fearless” will give his career the boost it needs.
“The songs is a collation of every single thing I love doing: producing, film making, dancing, singing, art design, performing. All of these things are a work of art and I’m merging them into a masterpiece.
"My style is a representation of myself, I must say. Also I’m a solo act. I’m not in a group like most here so, as far as comparison, it’s fresh for the Ppop scene, I’m just being me. I want to be known as a versatile over-all artist.”
