JEHRAMAE TRANGIA (pronounced as trang-hiya) is one of Viva’s top discoveries last year when she won in the “Born to be a Star” search on TV.

Very talented and brimming with potential, Jehramae looks forward to this new year 2022 as she Viva has big plans for her when it comes to her music career.

Jehramae is only 18 years old and she’s long been working hard to get to the point where she is right now.

The singing tilt where she won is the same as that where Sarah Geronimo won exactly 20 years ago. This is to say that skill and talent-wise, Jehramae is made of the same dynamic star material.

Jehramae says Sarah is truly a big influence on her.

“Since I began singing, Miss Sarah Geronimo has been a big inspiration to me,” she says. “She became my role model in singing because she is such an icon.

"She can dance, she can act, she can host. I mean, is there anything she can't do? She's completely idol material and hopefully soon I could get to collaborate with her.”

How did winning in “Born to be a Star” helped her?

“I’m based in Cebu and malaki po ang impact sa life ko that I won as grand champion. With the prize money, natulungan ko ang family ko. Nakapagpatayo kami ng mini grocery to help increase our income.”

Jehramae has released two singles with Viva Records for her impressive debut: the well received “Lumalapit” – a cover of a popular The Juans song – and her first original recording titled “Magparaya,” written by veteran composer Vehnee Saturno. And that’s just the start.

Jehramae is excited with all the possibilities her music career might bring this new year.

“What excites me the most about my music career is getting to meet a lot of talented artists from all over the country, and it's such an honor to be able to share my experiences with them while also allowing people to hear my music and craft.

"For 2022, I am planning to do workshops not only in singing and dancing but also in acting kasi one of my bucket list is to try acting and hopefully din soon, ma-experience and ma-try ko na ang acting.”

Who would she like to be paired with?

“Kung puede po, I want to be paired with RJ Cruz of The Juans.” Well, we’re not surprised as Rafael Joseph or RJ is the cutest guy among the Juans and they seem to have good on screen chemistry.

She’s praying that the stars will truly align for her in 2022.

“My wish is to have a big break sa aking career with my own album and own songs kasi dream ko po talagang magka-full album and I will include my stories na naging part ng life ko.”

At the rate Jehramae is going, this just might happen soon.
