TWO KOREAN superstars are working together for the first time in the sci-fi action film, “Seo Bok”, Gong Yoo and Park Bo Gum, directed by Lee Young Ju.

Gong plays Gi-heon, a former agent who used to work with the Korean Intelligence Agency. Park plays the title role of Seo Bok, the first human clone through stem cell cloning and genetic engineering.

The film was originally supposed to be released in December 2020, but its was postponed due to the resurgence of the covid virus. Finally the film is scheduled to be released simultaneously in theatres and via streaming.

Here in the Philippines, it will be shown on Viva Max,  ktx.ph, iWantTFC, SKY PPV.

Several forces are after Seo Bok as he holds the secret to eternal life. Together with Gong Yoo, they get entangle in various dangerous situations to evade the quarters out to get hold of Seo Bok.

Together, they combine forces in a race against time to save humanity from some greedy and evil forces.

Gong Yoo says he loves his role as an ex-intelligence agent who lives a secluded life as a result of something traumatic that happened in his past.

He is entrusted by his former boss with a secret mission to transfer humanity’s first cloned human called Seo Bok to a safe location. However, the mission goes haywire when the convoy is ambushed by unknown attackers.

Gi-heon and Seo Bok manage to escape together, but danger awaits them around every corner as Seo Bok has spent his entire life in a lab and is fascinated by the outside world while Gi-Heon only wants to complete his mission as soon as possible.

Various groups with conflicting agendas chase after Seo Bok, who is humanity’s greatest salvation but also its greatest threat. When their enemies finally close in on them, Gi-heon and Seo Bok are forced to make a final stand to protect themselves.

Gong Yoo made a name for himself with his stunning performance in the popular TV Show, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (also known as Goblin) and in films such as Kim Ji-young: Born 1982, The Age of Shadows and Train to Busan.

hile Park Bo Gum left a lasting impression with his acting in TV Shows such as Record of Youth and Reply 1988; and in movies such as Coin Locker Girl and Roaring Currents.

Knowing how big and special the movie is, they prepared well for their roles. Gong Yoo lost a lot of weight to prepare for his role as a neurotic man on the edge, suffering from trauma and fearing his looming death.

All these emotional changes Gong Yoo is able to capture and still deliver great action sequences as an ex-agent.

Meanwhile, Park Bo Gum will reveal another side of him as an actor, as he tackles the challenging role of a human clone, which required showing the innocence of a child as well as an animal-like rage with passion and focus.
