OGIE ALCASID ON DOING A CONCERT FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH IAN VENERACION, 'KILABOTITOS, AT NEW FRONTIER ON MARCH 20 & 21

OGIE ALCASID now produces concerts for his own company, A Team, and one of the concerts he produced last year was that of Ian Veneracion’s “Ian in Color”.

“It was held at the Music Museum for two nights and it’s a hit,” says Ogie. “I enjoyed producing it for him, so now, magkasama na kami in ‘Kilabotitos’ to be held at New Frontier Theatre on March 20 and 21, 8 PM.

"The title is a play on words, pareho raw kasi kaming kilabot, may asim pa kami, at pareho na rin kaming titos ng younger stars. Sa rehearsals nga, maraming nagugulat that we have this winning chemistry on stage pala.”

This is for him a unique collaboration. “First time namin to sing together in one show and we promise it will be a relaxing evening of songs and lots of reminiscing about the days gone by nung wala pang internet.”

What songs will they include in their repertoire?

“Actually, malawak yung sakop ng songs namin. Mostly, from the 80s, pero may songs din from the 60s and 70s hanggang 90s, from the Beatles and Hall & Oates to James Taylor to Spandau Ballet.

"We have both international hits and also OPM. It’s really a celebration of the world we grew up in noong wala pang social media at bashers.

“We’ll make sure the audience can sing along with us and also join us in our banter. Ian and I have the same taste in the songs we like.

"KILAAndami naming napiling kantahin, duets and solos. Okay lang na mas maraming choices kasi mas madaling magbawas kung sobrang haba na ng concert.”

He and Regine seem to be the favorite of haters who keep on bashing them.

“Ako ngayon, basta basher, blocked na agad yan, kasi I don’t need naman to see their comments. I’ve realized that they are bashers because that’s what they enjoy doing, they really feel it’s their job to bash others, so why will I give them the satisfaction of reading their comments?”

Regine was bashed when she was asked what advice she can give to Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli and she said “Basta mag-sex lang nang mag-sex.” What can Ogie say about this?

“My wife has a good sense of humor. She doesn’t mean to offend anyone. She just wants to lighten things up after the gulo reported in their wedding.

"Hindi naman sa nambabastos siya o nambababoy. E, hindi ba, totoo namang when you’re newly married, you just like to do the thing that married people do?”

Will his company produce a concert with Regine?

“Naku, when it comes to her concerts, hindi ako nakikialam. To begin with, I cannot afford her, at yung family nila, sila ng sisters niya ang namamahala sa ganyan.

"I asked her nga na mag-concert kami sa 10th anniversary ng marriage namin this year. Pero sabi niya, huwag na lang daw kasi pagod na siya.”

“Kilabotitos” is produced by Ogie’s A Team with Front Row and PLDT as co-presentors, sponsored by Malunggay Life Oil and King’s Herbal, along with Belo Medical and Dona Maria, with thanks to Leo V. Dominguez Management, Consace, Novus, McDonalds and Buffet Caterers.

You can get your tickets from ticketnet.com and Ogie’s A Team at 0906-287-8049 and 0917-795-08283.
