KATRINA HALILI HAS MORE TIME TO BOND WITH DAUGHTER WHILE 'PRIMA DONNAS' TAPING ON HOLD

KATRINA HALILI is taking time off from taping her hit afternoon drama, “Prima Donnas”, now that GMA-7 has stopped making new episodes while the corona virus crisis is raging on.

“Nakakatuwa kasi I now have more time to bond with my daughter, Katie,” she says. “E, dati lagi akong busy sa taping, so now, we have more time bonding with each other as mother and daughter.”

What kind of precautions and health regimens does she pratice to insure their safety?

“Like all the rest, we avoid going out of the house.

"Also, I make sure we’re eating healthy with more fruits and vegetables, drinking  more water, taking vitamins to strengthen our body’s resistance, also washing our hands more frequently, sanitizing our household, and even our car.”

So how does she make her time more productive while just cooped up at home?

“Naku, I took this as an opportunity para maglinis. Lahat ng mga clutter na di na kailangan, get rid of them.

"Aside from cleaning our home, I also cook healthy meals for my daughter. I always try to spend good quality time with her.”

How did she prepare for the lockdown?

“Like other people, I also went to the supermarket and bought enough provisions for our home.

"I stocked up on food, water and all the basic necessities we need while staying all day, all night at home. Katie also has enough books to read to while her time away productively.”

No doubt her role as Lilian in “Prima Donnas” is one of the most memorable characters she has ever played in her entire career. Does she miss the company of her co-stars now that their taping is on hold?

“Ay, oo! Sobra, lalo na yung tatlong anak ko, sina Jillian Ward, Sofia Pablo and Althea Ablan. E, parang mga anak na talaga ang turing ko sa kanila so I miss yung kulitan nila, naming lahat sa set.

"Happy set kami, along with Aiko Melendez and Elijah Alejo. Kahit sila ang mga kontrabida sa amin, we're all friends off cam. We all get along fine kaya naman we now really miss each other’s company.”

Did she have an inkling that “Prima Donnas” will be such a big hit that it will even topple its rival show in the ratings game?

“Well, siempre, sa umpisa pa lang, we’re all hoping na magustuhan ng tao ang palabas namin and I’m so glad that our prayers were all answered. Very relatable kasi ang characters that we play and the story itself, kaya tututukan mo talaga tuwing hapon from Monday hanggang Saturday afternoon.”

She says she keeps on getting inquiries in her social media accounts as to when they will air new episodes.

"All these revelations when we return kaya kapit lang kayo!”
