GMA’S HEART OF ASIA will soon offer a new Koreanovela to be shown after “Kara Mia” ends on Friday. The toprating “Sahaya” will then move up to replace “Kara Mia” in it slot, then to be followed by “Love You Two”. This will then be followed by the new Korean drama, “Sky Castle”.
This is the highest rating K-drama on cable in Korean broadcasting history, toppling the previous topnotcher, which was “Goblin”.
The story of “Sky Castle” is very unusual as it revolves on four different families who are all incredibly wealthy. It’s actually a black comedy-drama that delves into depression, murder, suicide, and obsessive parents. These are subjects that are often considered taboo in Korean society.
But although there are so many characters, the whole series is beautifully written and not messy or confusing, as the stories are laid out beautifully so, for sure, it will hook your attention right from the very first episode.
The show’s cast is led by top female Korean actresses called the Tiger Moms, consisting of Yum Jung Ah, Lee Tae Ran, Yoon Se Ah, and Oh Na Ra who play controlling and dominant mothers. They all got very good reviews as twisted characters who will stop at nothing in their desire to see their respective children to be the at the top as the most successful members in their society.
