Lani Misalucha Glad To Be Back In GMA-7 As A Judge In ''The Clash', Slows Down In Her Career Now That She's A Certified Lola Of Three Grandkids

LANI MISALUCHA is glad to be back with GMA-7 as one of the judges in “The Clash” which airs weekend on GMA-7. It’ll be recalled she moved to the U.S. in the arly 2000s to do lots of shows, mainly in Las Vegas and in Hawaii.”I used to do five shows a week and it can be very taxing for one’s voice kasi I sing without any electronic assistance or backing tracks,” she says. “Talagang nakakaubos ng boses, lalo sa Las Vegas, where it’s humid so yung vocal cords, they can get dry easily.”

She admits age has taken a toll on her. “At siempre pa, hindi naman bumabata ang lola nyo. Magiging 49 na ako sa August 3. Lola na nga talaga ako as I have three apos now, two boys and one girl, and I just want to spoil them. Before kahit pagod ako, kulang sa tulog, I can do show and my voice is there. But now, medyo kumapal na ang tone ng voice ko, so slow down muna and I welcome this work of being a judge in ‘The Clash’. I’m just really thankful na kahit malapit na akong maging golden girl, I still get a lot of singing offers, pati shows sa Europe, Asia and, of course, the U.S. Nakakatuwa namang malamang marami pa ring gustong mapakinggan ang pagkanta ko. But now, I want to do things at my own pace, hindi gaya before na basta tanggap lang ng tanggap.”

She welcomes staying in Manila for a while to do “The Clash”. “Siempre, I enjoy working here para hindi naman ako makalimutan ng mga kababayan natin dito. I also have fun working with my colleagues in the show, Regine Velasquez, Ai Ai de las Alas and Christian Bautista. I’m really excited to work with her and I’m having fun with all the contestants in ‘The Clash’ na very impressive ang lineup at maraming magagaling.”
