Julie Anne San Jose Celebrates As Her New Song, 'There's Nothing Left', Tops The Charts, Gets Ready For Her Pre-Valentine Concert This Saturday At Music Museum

JULIE ANNE SAN JOSE has reason to rejoice since her newest single, “There’s Nothing Left”, quickly topped the iTunes local charts and became number one only 30 minutes after it was released by Universal Records, her new home recording studio, for download at apple.com/2G1Q17E.

Netizens quickly praised her for sticking to her own kind of music and not just following the usual OPM trends for her generation. And now, after her hit concert in Cebu, “3 Stars 1 Heart” with Regine Velasquez and Christian Bautista, she’s now all set to star in her solo pre-Valentine concert, “#Julie”, at the Music Museum this Saturday, January 27.

So, how different is this from her past concerts? “This one is more intimate and more mature kasi ang concept nito is about the various stages of love,” she says. “We’ll have songs representing the getting to know you stage, tapos yung into a relationship na kayo, then yung mga away-away and break up stage, then last is moving on. I’ll have plenty of production numbers which we conceived with director Melvin Caldito. I’ll be singing my latest single, which is ‘There’s Nothing Left’, and many medleys.”

So in which stage of love is she now in with her beau, Benjamin Alves? “Puedeng sa amin na lang kung anong stage kami ngayon?” she asks. But when pressed to give an answer, she replies: “Forever kaming nasa number one stage, getting to know pa rin.”

Does her new single apply to her and Benjamin? Did she really give everything to him and “There’s Nothing Left” in her? “Although you try to give everything to your relationship, mahirap gawin as I believe you still have to love yourself first. At meron ka pa rin dapat love for your family, for your career, and for God.”

Her first full length album with Universal Records is expected to be released at the 3rd quater of this year yet. “Pero nauna na pong i-release yung first single na ‘There’s Nothing Left’. This will be followed by my own composition, a Tagalog song na mellow rin and has the same vibe as ‘There’s Nothing Left’ which was composed and produced by Marcus Davis. I actually have two compositions in the album. The other one is in English. It’s very special for me to have my own songs in my album kasi mas nagiging personal.”

So why did she leave GMA Records and moved to Universal? “I just want to explore and venture into new things and new venues when it comes to my music. When my new album is released, you’d noticed na ibang-iba ito kaysa sa past albums that I did before.”

She’s currently seen on weekends on GMA-7, the sitcom “Pepito Manaloto” and the noontime comedy revue, “Sunday PinaSaya”. How about a new teleserye since her last one, “Pinulot Ka Lang sa Lupa”, was aired a year ago?

“As of now, I just want to focus on my music and my album muna. But kung may bagong soap na ibibigay sa akin ang GMA, why not? I miss doing drama rin naman.”
