Carmi Martin On Playing The Mother Of Four Young Actors With Different Nationalities Led By Edward Barber & Marco Gallo In 'Loving In Tandem'

CARMI MARTIN plays a very interesting and colorful role in “Loving in Tandem” that opens in theaters tomorrow. She is the mother of four boys with different nationalities as they have different fathers. Her sons include Korean Ryan Bang, African-American Thou Reyes, Italian Marco Gallo and American Edward Barber.

“Yes, united colors and mga anak ko kasi iba-iba ang lahi ng mga ama nila dahil sa aking colorful love life in the story,” says Carmi, who turned 54 last August 9 but looks much younger than her age. “My name is Aling Remedios. Si Thou ang eldest sa kanila at si Edward ang youngest na bagong discovered lang na anak ko rin pala at nagbalikbayan from America.”

In real life, Carmi has remained single, which she says is by choice, and has no child at all. In the movie, her four sons are Jordan (Thou), Gong Ho (Ryan), Tupe (Marco) and Luke (Edward.) “Ako rin yung tumatayong nanay-nanayan ni Maymay Entrata as Shine,” adds Carmi, who was also busy on TV in the recently concluded “Better Half” and in “Wansapantaym” with Awra Briguela. So what does she think of the newest Kapamilya stars she’s working with in “Loving in Tandem”?

“Definitely, they show a lot of promise,” she says. “Tinuring ko talaga silang mga anak-anakan ko habang nagsu-shooting kami. I enjoyed doing the movie with them kasi naka-energize kapag mga bata ang kasama mo. And I can say that they’re all hard working and willing to learn kaya malayo ang mararating nila sa showbiz. Lagi ko silang nire-remind na huwag lalaki ang ulo nila kung gusto nilang tumagal dito. Dapat, maging well grounded sila at matuto silang maging marespeto sa mga kapwa nila artistang nauna sa kanila.”
