Arci Munoz & Gerald Anderson Reunited & Can Relate With Their Roles As Exes Who Want To Be Friends In 'Can We Still Be Friends?'

ARCI MUNOZ and Gerald Anderson had a hit romcom when they did “Always Be My Maybe” with Director Dan Villegas, so it’s not surprising that they are paired anew in Star Cinema’s latest offering, “Can We Still Be Friends?”. The movie is directed by the neophyte filmmaker Prime Cruz directing his first mainstream project for a top film company after debuting in his award-winning hit indie film, “Sleepless”.

As the title indicates, the new flick is about two ex-sweethearts, Gerald as Digs and Arci as Sam, who are trying their best to still be friends even after their breakup. In real life, both Arci and Gerald have experienced breaking up with their past relationships. So can they now relate to the characters that they play in the movie and do they think that being friends again is still possible in real life? “I can most certainly relate to it,” says Arci who just called it quits from her rocker BF, Badi del Rosario aka Bones Frankenstein. “Pero mahirap kung may feelings ka pa rin, e. Like me, nasa moving on stage pa lang ako, so hindi ko siguro kayang makipag-friends agad. I believe you could eventually be friends kung love mo pa rin nga siya, or never mo talaga siyang minahal.”

“Dati, ganun din ang paniwala ko,” says Gerald. “Mahirap maging friends kayo uli, but right now, I think, puede naman pala.”

As we all know, Gerald is currently being seen in a new morning soap, “Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin”, with a former girlfriend, Kim Chiu, and they seem to be doing pretty okay. Will they invite their exes at the premiere night of “Can We Still Be Friends?” “No, ako, hindi ko pa kaya,” says Arci.

As for Gerald, this would be quite a problem. Aside from Kim, he was also linked before with Sarah Geronimo, Maja Salvador and even his current “nakabalikan” GF, Bea Alonzo, was also once his ex. Let’s see if he would invite all of them to watch “Can We Still Be Friends?” with him when it opens in theaters on June 14.
