WE HAD DINNER with Annabelle Rama a few nights ago and she said it’s not true that her son Richard Gutierrez is sure to move to ABS-CBN. “Nothing is sure,” she says. “But it’s true na may offer sila to do an episode of ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’. E, three days pala kung mag-taping doon. Hindi puede si Richard kasi aalis kami to go to Switzerland. Magsisimula na ang bagong season ng ‘It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez’ and it will be partly shot sa Europe. Ang aalis, kami ni Eddie, then Richard with Sarah Lahbati and their son Zion. Pagbalik namin, we have to help sa promo ng movie we did with Direk Carlo Caparas, ‘Kamandag ng Droga’. Ang producer na nito is her son, CJ Caparas at ang nagdirek, yung daughter nila si Peach na tapos palang mag-aral ng filmmaking. Sila ang new blood na kapalit ng mother nila, the late Donna Villa, in running their film company, Golden Lions Production.”
So it will be time for her to bond with Sarah’s parents who are based in Switzerland. Someone joked that this is the chance for her to be close to Sarah’s mom, Esther, with whom Annabelle had a tiff before. “Okay naman kami,” she says. “And we’re not going to stay sa house nila. Maghohotel kami. Nakakahiya naman kung dun kami sa kanila titirang lahat.”
Is it true Ruffa’s eldest daughter, Lorin Bektas, is joining showbiz soon? “Naku, gustong-gusto, pero sabi ni Ruffa, magtapos muna ng studies niya. Kasi sayang naman dahil she’s so bright in class.”
