“Siempre, alangan namang magpatalbog ako,” says the Comedy Concert Queen who’s in two regular TV shows, “Hay Bahay” and “Sunday Pinasaya”. “Sabi niya, magpapa-sexy siya, kaya kailangan, kahit Papal Awardee na ako, magpapa-sexy rin ako, hindi nga lang sobra. Pati yung green jokes na sobrang berde, babawasan ko na.”
How will she celebrate Valentine’s Day with her 24-year old boyfriend Gerald Sibayan? “Walang chance kasi nga may concert ako, so nagtatrabaho ako. Saka hindi na kailangan mag-celebrate kasi every month, lagi siyang may gift sa’kin, usually bulaklak basta tuwing monthsary namin. One thing na napatunayan ko, talagang lagi siyang nandiyan para sa akin.”
Is it true they plan to officially tie the knot this year? “No, wala pa akong balak kasi gusto ko lang i-enjoy ang pagiging single ko. Last year lang lumabas officially yung divorce ko ng kasal ko noon sa Las Vegas, so enjoyin ko muna, di ba?”
Other special guests in the Valentine concert are Erik Santos and Ogie’s eldest daughter, Leila, who now lives with him here in Manila. Leila intends to join showbiz and has quickly gained thousands of followers in social media. Some writers cracked that Ogie is now officially a stage father while his wife Regine Velasquez is the stage stepmother.
“Yes, I manage my daughter, as of now, but we will get a co-manager for her para tulungan ako,” he says. “As of now, dahil nagsisimula pa lang siya sa showbiz, I try to help her make a good start.
Tinuturuan ko rin siya how to perform on a concert stage. Kumukuha rin siya ngayon ng Tagalog lessons kasi hindi siya marunong ng wika natin. But ang advice ko sa kanya is to just enjoy things, enjoy herself at huwag masyadong i-pressure ang sarili niya. At habang hindi pa siya busy, she’s being a good Ate to her brother Nate. Hinahatid at sinusundo niya ito sa school.”
