Ryza Cenon's All Out Portrayal Of An Aggressive Mistress In 'Ika-6 Na Utos' Gives Her Career The Boost It Has Long Needed

RYZA CENON never expected that playing an aggressive and shameless other woman in the big Afternoon Prime hit, “Ika-6 na Utos”, will give her career its much needed boost. “Grabe ang feedback sa’kin, lalo sa social media kung saan bina-bash yung character ko, si Georgia, and I’m happy it means I’m so effective in my role,” she says. “And I’d like to thank Direk Laurice Guillen for helping me every step of the way in interpreting my role. Sabi niya, mag-isip ako ng isang bagay na gustong-gusto kong makuha, pero iba ng may ari kaya aagawin ko.”

Doesn’t she feel bad when her haters threaten to harm her? “No, okay lang. Kung anu-ano ang sinasabi nila sa’kin, like bubuhusan ka namin ng asido, sasabunutan ka namin, kakalbuhin ka namin. So I just tell them si Georgia po yun, hindi po si Ryza. Pero meron din namang kapag nakikita ako in public, tinatawag akong Georgia then tinatanong kung magkakabalikan pa raw ba sina Gabby Concepcion as Rome and Sunshine Dizon as Emma pagkatapos kong maging homewrecker sa kanila.

Bentang-benta rin sa kanilang yung tagpong nagkita kami ni Sunshine at nagsampalan kami nang husto. So dahil nag-click yun, uulitin daw at pinaghahandaan ko na ang another round of sampalan with her. Actually, learning experience din for me to portray an other woman kasi nalaman kong iba-ibang klase pala ang kabit. May mga pera lang ang habol dun sa lalaki. Pero meron ding talagang nai-in love dun sa lalaki kahit alam na nilang may asawa, gaya ng nangyari sa’kin kay Gabby Concepcion. Kulang din kasi siya sa atensiyon from his own family, kaya kay Gabby niya yun hinahanap. But the show stresses hindi tama yung pagiging kabit. Gusto lang namin ipakitang tao rin sila, maaaring nagkamali, pero nagmamahal din lang sila, may emosyon din sila.”

Off cam, Ryza is so happy in the arms of her loving BF, Cholo Barretto (nephew of Gretchen, Marjorie and Claudine), who says he’s watching “Ika-6 na Utos” everyday. “Number one critic ko yun, e. May mga suggestion pa siya kung paano ko mas mapapaganda ang acting ko. Very supportive siya, kahit sa love scenes ko with Gabby, okay lang sa kanya.”

Cholo has taken her with him to the social gatherings of the Barretto family and they welcome her warmly. It seems he’s serious with her. Does she see herself walking to the altar with him?
“Sana, kasi let’s face it, 29 na ako, I’m not getting any younger. Tapos, yung mga friends ko in the business may mga baby na, like LJ Reyes and Chynna Ortaleza. But I want to wait pa bago kami pakasal. Siguro two years pa para mas mapaghandaan, mas maplano namin nang husto, emotionally and also financially, ang pag-aasawa.”
