KATRINA HALILI is chided at the presscon of her new soap, “Sa Piling ni Nanay”, GMA-7’s new soap that will start airing on June 27. The name of the character she plays is Scarlet, which so happens to also be the name of the baby of Dr. Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho, with whom she had a big conflict some years ago. What can she say about this?
“As far as I know, nauna kami,” she says. Sabi ko, ano ba to? Naka-move on na kaming lahat, e.”
As Scarlet in ‘Sa Piling ni Nanay’, she plays a former beauty queen and very ambitious woman who marries Benjamin Alves because he’s very rich. But it turns out she’s infertile and can’t have her own kids, so they hire Yasmien Kurdi to be a baby maker who will carry their baby for them in her own womb.
Yasmien is legally married to a pilot, Rey Soldevilla, and has a daughter. In her case, she has split with the dad, Kris Lawrence, of her love child, Katy. Isn’t she somehow envious of Yasmien who’s more complete with an official family?
“No, not really. I’m happy for Yasmien. As for me, darating din naman siguro yung right guy for me, in God’s own time. As for Kris, friends naman kami. He visits our daughter regularly at tumutulong naman siya, so hanggang doon na lang yon. I’m not even dating anyone. Happy naman ako sa buhay ko. Basta ayokong madallin at baka magkamali na naman ako. Ilang beses na akong nagkamali before, so ayoko nang maulit at baka sabihin nyo, nauntog na ako, hindi pa rin ako natututo.”
