TV VIEWING FOR kids gets a big boost with the country’s first local all-day children’s channel, Yey!, exclusively aired on ABS-CBN TV plus. It introduces Team Yey, a highly entertaining show with six very talented kids, 3 boys and 3 girls, recruited after a rigorous series of auditions. They will showcase their amazing talents each day of the week. And here they are:
AJ Urquia - a finalist of ‘Dance Kids’, he’ll host “Galaw Go” on Mondays and demonstrate a variety of unique dance moves from folk dance to hiphop that will help kids express themselves through their body movements and also improve their health and well being.
Mitch Nado - A “Goin’ Bulilit” regular, Mitch is a foodie at heart and will teach in “Snaks Naman” on Tuesdays how to prepare tasty dishes for kids in a fun way, from snacks to dessert and even drinks.
Hannah Vito - Budding artist and actress Hannah is hosting “Artstig” on Wednesdays, a show that teaches kids about arts and crafts projects using inexpensive items available around the house.
Sam Shoaf - Young athlete and vlogger Sam will host “Game? Play!” on Thursdays, which introduces sporty fun games where kids can actively participate, sweat it out and not just sit around when they play games on their gadgets.
Raven Cajuguiran - A commercial model and natural storyteller, Raven hosts “Storey” on Fridays, where magical stories come to life in mini-theater presentations or in animation. The kids will not only enjoy the stories but also learn valuable lessons from them.
Luke Alford - A singer recruited from “The Voice Kids, Season 1”, Luke hosts “Sound Check” on Saturdays, which will spark the interest of kiddie viewers in music through inspiring songs and beautiful pieces from musical instruments.
On Sundays, all the six kids get together in “Sunday Fun Day”, where they engage in daring challenges, try adventurous experiments and play new games that encourage them to try doing new things. Their new shows will start airing this Sunday, June 19, 8:30 AM and 2:20 PM with replays at 9:40 PM. On weekdays, their show will air at 8:30 AM and 4:20 PM, and on weekends, at 8:30 AM and 2:20 PM on Yey!
Danie Sedilla Cruz, Channel head for Yey, says they offer three different menus for their daily grid. First is the programs for pre-schoolers, which include kiddie shows like Peppa Pig, Dora the Explorer and Sesame St. Then there’s the action-adventure block with Nickelodeon shows, and the Anime block as night sets in. Eventually, they intend to produce more shows with local content for Filipino kid viewers.
“Team Yey encourages kids to have fun while exploring possibilities that they may excel in,” she says. “We want kids to enjoy their childhood with a variety of shows also hosted by kids, where they are offered different activities that are not only entertaining but also give good insights and lessons to child viewers.”
Yey is available exclusively on digital TV via ABS-CBN Plus, on cable via SKYcable and Destiny, or SKYdirect. For more info, visit tvplus.abs-cbn.com and follow Yey on Facebook.
