“Just like any woman, I’ve always had my insecurities. I often felt that I wasn’t pretty enough, mestiza enough, or tall enough. I asked myself many questions in the hope that I could finally belong, be accepted, and be called beautiful. As I embrace my 30s, I can say I’ve sailed through many adventures. My let-downs and heartached as well as my so-called soaring high ‘unicorn’ moments have me who I am now.
“I’ve learned that although life may not always be beautiful, it’s who you are and who you end up becoming that makes you truly beautiful. As my mom would always, ’It’s all about your character, my darling!’ True beauty comes from knowing your worth and fully embracing who you are. Always be true to yourself and never wear a mask. Be happy and confident with what you see in the mirror and the rest will follow.”
The book has pictures of Heart as a child when she wanted to become an ice skater, when she joined Star Circle Batch 9 when she was 14 years old, and various photos through the years with the stars and leading men she worked with up to her marriage to Sen. Chiz Escudero. She also writes: “Making this book was like writing in my diary and giving everyone a copy of 30 years of everything I’ve learned! Here you go!”

Aside from promoting her book, Heart is also busy taping for “Juan Happy Love Story” and in campaigning for her husband Sen.Chiz Escudero who’s running for vice president. She’s glad to have her BFF Lovi Poe in their campaign sorties. They became the best of friends while doing two soaps, “Legacy” then “Beautiful Strangers”.
“Di namin akalaing ang mapapangasawa ko, magiging ka-tandem ng sister niyang si Sen. Grace Poe sa darating na election,” says Heart. “Parang destiny ang nangyari. Enjoy kami habang naglilibot sa iba’t ibang lugar to campaign. We visit a lot of new places, meet many new people, at nakakatulong pa kami sa Poe-Escudero campaign. Latest na pinuntahan namin is Puerto Princesa in Palawan and we want to thank the people there for their warm welcome to us. I also want to Tutuban in Divisoria, Pasay Victory Mall in Libertad and Cartimar Market at nagpapasalamat din ako sa napakainit na pagtanggap sa amin ng mga tagaroon.”
