Viva Entertainment Launches Shy Carlos In The Title Role Of 'Tasya Fantasya' On TV5

SHY CARLOS is being built up by Viva for the big time. She currently stars as Maricel Soriano and Herbert Bautista’s daughter who gets possessed by an evil spirit in the horror-comedy flick “Lumayo Ka Nga sa Akin”. Soon, she’ll be launched on TV 5 playing the title role of “Tasya Fantasya”, the latest remake of the Carlo Caparas story first filmed by Kris Aquino in 1994 and later remade on GMA-7 by Yasmien Kurdi in 2008.

Shy is Fil-Swiss, with her mom as the Pinay parent. Turning 21 on March 16, she is currently a third year Diplomatic Affairs student as the College of St. Benilde. She first joined showbiz as a member of the female singing group, Pop Girls, using her real name Schai Sigrist.

She then did supporting roles in the remake of “Bagets” on TV5 with Nadine Lustre and later on ABS-CBN’s “Annaliza” and “Be Careful with My Heart”. On the big screen, she first did bit roles in “Secret Romance” and “When the Love Has Gone”, then appeared in longer roles in “Para sa Hopeless Romantic” with JaDine and in the horror movie, “Chain Mail”, with Meg Imperial.

So how is it doing “Lumayo Ka Nga” with Maricel and Mayor Herbert? “It was a lot of fun. Ang babait nila and very supportive sa mga baguhang kasama nila. Starstruck nga akong noong una, but they made me feel relaxed right away. We’re doing comedy kaya masaya sa set. Kami mismo, we couldn’t stop laughing while we’re shooting.”

How would she make sure that her interpretation of “Tasya Fantasya” is different from that of Kris and Yasmien? “Well, to begin with, hindi ko po napanood yung versions nila so I have no way of knowing how they did the role of Tasya. Basta ako, I tried my best to make Tasya someone relatable to today’s generation of viewers, kasi siempre, updated ito for today’s audiences para subaybayan nila ang journey ni Tasya from a simple yaya to being the Princess Anastacia. Bago rin ang kapareha ko, si Mark Neumann, and we had such a nice time on the set. I’m sure maaaliw ang audience sa bagong version namin ng ‘Tasya Fantasya’ every Saturday starting February 6. Kasama namin dito sina Ara Mina, John Lapus, Candy Pangilinan, Giselle Sanchez, AJ Muhlach, Malak Shdifat at marami pang iba, directed by Ricky Rivero.”
