MANILYN REYNES is seen making people laugh in “Pepito Manaloto” on weekends, but weeknights, she makes people cry in her role as Daisy, the grieving mother of Ken Chan and Sheena Halili in “Destiny Rose”. “Nagpapasalamat talaga ako sa GMA for the good projects they give me,” she says. “I feel so lucky na I can do drama in one show and comedy naman doon sa isa. I’m so happy for Ken Chan sa big success ng ‘Destiny Rose’ dahil nakita ko ang struggle niya to be effective and believable in the role of a transwoman. This week, mare-recognize ko nang si Destiny, at ang akala kong namatay kong anak na si Joey, are actually one and the same. Habang inaayos namin ang Christmas tree sa bahay, tinawag niya akong Mama at doon ko na-confirm na siya nga ang nawawala kong anak. Pero siempre, hindi pa namin ito ipapaalam sa ama niyang si Joko Diaz as Lito. Giliw na giliw kasi si Joko kay Destiny without knowing na ito yung anak niyang sobrang pinagmamalupitan niya noong araw dahil nga bading.”
Since it’s the Christmas season, this week’s episodes in “Destiny Rose” will be Christmas-themed. The publishing house of Destiny will have a Christmas party. Katrina Halili as Jasmine will attend it and everyone will admire her for being so sexy. But then, Ken as Destiny makes an entrance and everyone focuses their attention on her because she looks like a beautiful princess. Katrina is pissed and once again, the rivalry between her and Destiny intensifies, affecting even the people close to them. At the buffet table, Jasmine intentionally bumps into Sheena as April, spilling food on her dress. But Sheena won’t take things sitting down and fights back.
