Mader Ricky Reye's Child Haus Gets New Building From SM's Mr. Henry 'Tatang' Sy And Son Hans Sy

CHILD HAUS was put up by beauty expert-philanthropist Ricky Reyes in 2002 to help kid patients and their parents who are seeking treatment in Manila hospitals. They used to stay in Mapang-Akit St., UP Village which is very far from PGH, where most patients are being treated. It has since helped about 10,000 kids.

Now, they have a new home, a spanking new building on Agoncillo St., Ermita, just walking distance to PGH, donated by Mr. Henry “Tatang” Sy and his son, Mr. Hans Sy. The blessing was held last Sunday afternoon and it was so touching to see the children so happy in their new home that looks more like a hotel.

“Our mission in Child Haus is to provide a temporary home for children and adults with cancer conducive for healing while they’re undergoing medical evaluation or treatment in Manila government hospitals,” says Mader Ricky. “We want to see everyone afflicted with cancer return to normal life and become productive citizens. CHILD here means Center for Health Improvement and Life Development, because we also have teachers to make sure the patients don’t neglect their studies while being treated.”
Several celebrities and media personalities are helping him in its operations, including Karylle Yuzon and TV exec Wilma Galvante who personally attended the blessing. Also helping out are Luis Manzano, Henry Omaga-Diaz, GMA execs Darling de Jesus and Gigi Lara, and many more donors. To Mader Ricky and Mr. Hans Sy, may your tribe increase!
