Their special guest that night is Mother Lily Monteverde, who says Mar has a special place in her heart because she visited her at the hospital when she had lung surgery a couple of years ago. She was also there when Mar was proclaimed as the standard bearer of the Liberal Party. But her daughter, Roselle, appeared at the proclamation of Sen. Grace Poe, so it seems they have their own choice as to who they’ll support in the coming elections.
Actor-politicians Alfred Vargas and Dan Fernandez also appeared in the said affair and even sang “To Love Somebody” with Mar Roxas. In the music video for Mar, stars who showed their support by appearing on the video include KathNiel, Maricel Soriano, Carla Abellana (which is understandable since her manager Arnold Vegafria is supporting Mar), Karylle Yuzon, James Yap, Rufa Mae Quinto, Melai Cantiveros and husband Jason Francisco. Singing the song for Mar’s campaign are Billy Crawford, Kris Lawrence and Jay R, who, come to think of it, are all FilAm balikbayans from the States.
