Jennylyn Mercado's Movie Trounces Kris Aquino's Entry At The Metro Filmfest Box Office After It Won Awards

WE WISH our readers a happy, peaceful New Year 2016 full of wonderful blessings from the Lord.

AS EXPECTED, the awards won by “Walang Forever”, including best picture, bet actor for Jericho Rosales and best actress for Jennylyn Mercado) helped in attracting more viewers and it’s now number 4 in its standing in the box office. The Metro-Manila Filmfest Facebook page revealed this. Number one remains to be “My Bebe Love”, followed by “Beauty and the Bestie”, then the horror flick from Regal, “Haunted Mansion”.

No official figures were given, just this ranking. Kris Aquino’s entry, “All You Need is Pag-ibig” is now number 5. It wa surely affected by Kris’ being urong-sulong in doing it and it ended up being a quickie rushed by Director Antoinette Jadaone. This is a big blow for Kris, whose past movies used to be number 2 always, like “Dalaw”, “Segunda Mano” and “Feng Shui 2”.

It’s said the first five days of the festival has already raked in a total of P547 million. So the MIFF is optimistic that they will reach their target of P1 billion revenue for the whole festival run.
