Comedian Dinky Doo Directs Debut Movie 'One Day Isang Araw' With New Child Star AJ Ocampo

COMEDIAN DINKY DOO has just finished directing his first movie, “One Day Isang Araw, I Saw Nakakita”, starring new child actress AJ (for Alainah Jezl) Ocampo. “It’s a trilogy with AJ connecting all the stories,” he says. “The first story is a comedy about child beggars at kasama ako at sina Onyok Velasco, Brod Pete and the Wowowin Girls. Yung second story, action, with John Regala as a syndicate boss who uses AJ and other beggars for illegal activities, like snatching. Kasama rito si Janelle Jaymer and Nino Muhlach. The final episode is drama, with Allen Dizon and Lara Quigaman as a childless couple na nasagasaan si AJ at inampon siya. Then she will meet her real sister, si Ritz Azul. Baguhan lang si AJ but napakagaling niyang umarte. I’m producing it under my own company, Yebahdabadoo Entertainment.”

Dinky says he was down and out when 2015 started. “There was a time wala akong pambayad sa renta ko, sa bills ko, I thought I’d die kasi bedridden na ako due to severe arthritis with complications. They already paid me a tribute sa ‘Wish Ko Lang’, with Tito Dolphy, Elizabeth Ramsay, Sammy Lagmay and Tiya Pusit encouraging me, saying hahaba pa ang buhay ko, which happened naman at sila ang wala na ngayon. Of course, I owe it all to God. In January, I was introduced to the Filipino Dream, a company that provides livelihood through food carts, Pinoy Pao, selling siopao, siomai, burgers and pandesal. For P60,000, may food cart ka na and you can earn about P1,000 a day. It worked for me and the owners got me to promote the Filipino Dream to OFW’s abroad so I traveled all over the States presenting their plan at maraming nakagusto. Then they told me their only daughter, si AJ, 7 years old, gusto mag-artista. Sabi ko, let’s just produce a movie for her at ito na nga yung ‘One Day Isang Araw’. We have a free special screening for everyone na gustong manood on December 2, Wednesday, sa Meralco Theatre, 6 PM. Lahat ng gustong manood, especially children, free, with free Pinoy Pao goodies and freebies. We’ll have the regular screening in SM next year na.”
