TV's Happiness On Wheels Sunday Noontime Show, 'Happy Truck Ng Bayan' Goes To The Provinces To Offer Big Cash Prizes

TWO MONTHS after TV5 introduced on the air their rousing Sunday noontime show that offers happiness-on-wheels, the endearing game-variety show “Happy Truck Ng Bayan” continues to bring fun and cash prizes to their audiences, both live and on TV. They’ve gone to various places in Metro-Manila and they also ventured into Pampanga and the reception everywhere they go is just overwhelmingly fantastic.

TV5 Chief Entertainment Content Officer Wilma V. Galvante says the show was really designed to deviate from the usual setup of audiences going to the TV studio. “Sa ‘Happy Truck ng Bayan’, kami mismo ang nagpupunta at naghahatid ng saya sa iba’t ibang barangay,” she says. “Kailangan kasi patulu­yin kami ng mga ma­no­no­od sa kanilang mga tahanan at maging parte kami ng kanilang pang-araw-araw na buhay. Siyem­pre, para mangyari ‘yon, kailangang literal na ku­matok kami sa mga pintuan nila.”

Headed by the singing comic tandem of Ogie Alcasid and Janno Gibbs, the show offers not only great entertainment but big cash prizes. Ogie says he’s very happy to be reunited with Janno. “Talagang masayang makatrabaho si Janno,” he adds. “It feels good to collaborate with a good friend like him. Complementary kami sa isa’t isa e. Bukod sa game segments, may music segments ang programa kaya abangan nyo lagi ang song numbers namin ni Janno where we give new hilarious lyrics to some familiar songs.”


The powerhouse ensemble of co-hosts include Derek Ramsay, Gelli de Belen, Jasmine Curtis Smith, Empoy Marquez, Tuesday Vargas, Kim Idol, Eula Caballero, Martin Escudero, Alwyn Uytingco, Ritz Azul, Valeen Montenegro, Toni Aquino, Tom Taus, and the Kapatid kilig love teams of Mark Neumann and Shaira Mae, Akihiro Blanco and Chanel Morales, Sophie Albert and Vin Abrenica. Last Sunday, the sexy song and dance number of Mark and Vin showing them performing shirtless with the hunky Carl Guevarra was a big hit with the crowd. Featured guest hosts include Rufa Mae Quinto, Ruffa Gutier­rez, Bianca King, Randy Santiago and Bituin Escalante.

Viewers and netizens are also talking about the segment called OCW or ‘Oh! Construction Worker!’, a personality search where the contestants are sexy, muscled former or current construction workers. Another relevant segment is Barangay Bayani that pay tribute to hardworking barangay workers. But the show’s highlight continues to be Kwarta o Kwartruck, a game that gives winning players as much as P300,000 cash prizes every Sunday. Watch out for future episodes that will take “Happy Truck ng Bayan” to provinces in Northern and Southern Luzon and later this year, to big cities in Visayas and Mindanao. “Happy Truck ng Bayan” is the earliest noon time show on Sundays as it starts airing at 11:30 AM.
