Robin Padilla Quits MMFF Entry "#Nilalang", Maria Ozawa Calls Him 'Unprofessional', His Manager Calls Maria 'Selfish'

ROBIN PADILLA and his manager, Betchay Vidanes, have issued an official statement about his decision to resign from the Metro-Manila Filmfest entry he is supposed to do with Japanese adult star Maria Ozawa:
“This is to announce that Mr. Robin Padilla and Team Vidanes Celebrity Marketing will no longer be part of the movie ‪’#‎Nilalang‬’, which is scheduled to compete in the Metro Manila Film Festival in December 2015.

“It is with great regret that we have to inform all that due to extenuating personal circumstances, Mr. Robin Padilla has had to make the decision to withdraw from the film. I would like to let you know that this decision making process has been very hard as Mr. Padilla's reputation shows that he has the highest regards for those he commits to work with. But his withdrawal is due to the fact of needing to attend to his wife Mariel, as she is experiencing a delicate pregnancy. Mariel is currently pregnant with triplets, and also suffered a miscarriage in March of this year.

”Due to this, Mr. Padilla feels that he needs to focus and prioritize the well-being of his family and has decided to forego his role as Tony in the movie ‘#Nilalang’. The decision to withdraw from the film has been difficult for Mr. Padilla and VCM team. This cancellation has been a collective resolution of Vidanes Celebrity Marketing and Haunted Tower Productions are not at fault in any way. We acknowledge that we hold no claims or rights to this movie whether it is produced or not. ”On behalf of Mr. Robin Padilla and Vidanes Celebrity Marketing, we would like to ask to the producers and the public for their understanding and kind consideration.”

Maria Ozawa reacted and posted in social media that it’s so unprofessional of Robin to resign 10 days before their shooting starts. She said she pities the film’s director and producer. To this, Betchay retorted that if Robin is unprofessional then Maria is selfish: “Robin may be unprofessional to people like Maria Ozawa but for me, he’s a real man with a gentle heart to give way to his wife’s delicate condition. If you think Robin is unprofessional, then I think you are selfish.”

We now wonder who will be tapped to play the role of Robin in “#Nilalang”.
