Coco Martin Plays Twin Brothers In 'Ang Probinsiyano' While Rumored GF Julia Montes Plays Twin Sister In 'Doble Kara'

COCO MARTIN is honored and proud to be doing a TV adaptation of one of the late Fernando Poe Jr.’s most well loved films, “Ang Probinsiyano”, which was such a big hit then that it spawned a sequel, “Ang Pagbabalik ng Probinsiyano”.

He died on the first day of shooting ng very first movie ko, ‘Masahista’. I don’t see him as an actor lang but a superhero. Pero nagpapasalamat akong nabigyan ng chance to remake one of his movie masterpieces. Mahirap mahigitan o mapantayan si FPJ but I owe it to him na ibigay ko ang best para maging maganda-maganda ito.”

How did the project start? Sabi niya, why not pay tribute to the police. Pinanood namin ito and we saw the potential para mapaganda ang story as a teleserye. Marami kaming idinagdag na characters para mas kumapal ang kuwento and make it more interesting. Ako rito, hindi lang kambal. Bale apat ang roles ko rito kasi may characters akong nagpapanggap ako bilang ibang tao.”

He really prepared hard for the show.

Julia Montes, who’s being linked to him, plays the role of twins in “Doble Kara”, while he also plays the role of twin brothers in “Ang Probinsiyano”. Is this intentional? “Oo nga. Pero nagkataon lang yun. But, malay natin, baka magtagpo yun din yung kambal niya at yung kambal ko,” he laughs.

“Ang Probinsiyano” is a partnership of FPJ Productions and Dreamscape Entertainment, directed by Malu Sevilla and Avel Sunpongco. Also in the powerhouse cast are Maja Salvador and Bela Padilla as his leading ladies, Susan Roces as Coco’s Lola, Albert Martinez, Agot Isidro, Arjo Atayde, Jaime Fabregas, Jao Mapa, Ramon Christopher, Baron Geisler.
