Melissa Ricks Now A Youtube Star In ABS-CBN's Multi-Channel Network For Online Stars, 'Chickenporkadobo'

MELISSA RICKS, exactly a year ago last July, confirmed the rumors that she was preggy. She officially became a mom last January 12 when she gave birth to a cute baby girl she and her boyfriend, Charles Togesaki, named Kiera Kelly. Now, she's back in showbiz not only as an actress but as a youtube star talking about her life as a working mom in ABS-CBN's multi-channel network for the next online stars, Chicken Pork Adobo Network.

This empowers creators who do not have the chance to go on TV. The head is Donald Lim, head of ABS-CBN's Digital Media Division. Chicken Pork Adobo has 90 creators now whose youtube channels offer a variety of topics: fashion, toys, comedy, music, lifestyle, vlogs, entertainment, arts and crafts, food, parenting and inspirational. These creators produce their own materials on a regular basis and even let their fans in into their own private lives.

Studies show that more and more Pinoys are consuming content online with an estimated 38 million internet users, most of whom are under 30 years old, and they are looking for different kinds of materials not usually found on free TV and cable channels. Included in Chicken Pork Adobo is the big hit Kids' Toys showing sisters Faye and Laurice Tendilla as they open their toys. Launched in May 2012, it has since gathered 1.14 million subscribers and had 1.5 billion views.

Other creators include Lloyd Cadena, who's popular because of his own takes on love, school and his parody videos; "The Social Network" with three lawyers who share their entertaining opinions, and actress Cai Cortez' "Plump Pinay" that advocates one's being comfortable with one's own body, even if you're fat.
If you think you have something great to contribute, Chicken Pork Adobo wants you to share your interesting and exciting materials with them so you can make your own mark on digital space. You can get in touch with them through chickenporkadobo@abs-cbn.com. They're also on Facebook at chickenporkadobot.net.
