Inspirational Speaker Michael Angelo Lobrin Has His Own TV Show, '#Michaelangelo' On GMA News TV Channel 11

MICHAEL ANGELO LOBRIN is an in demand inspirational/ motivational speaker. Early this year, he produced his own TV show on GMA News TV Channel 11, “#Michael Angelo”, which had 6 episodes. He admits it didn’t last long “kasi niloko ako ng production team ko.” Now, the new season of his show will start airing this Saturday, 3 to 4 PM. “Binago ko na ang buong staff ko at may sponsor na ko, Chooks to Go, the oven roasted chicken from Bounty Argo Ventures.” Bounty president, Ronald Mascarinas, believes so much in Michael’s talent and supports him all the way. “We met nang maging inspirational speaker ako ng company nila in Tagaytay”, says Michael. “We clicked at parang tatay ko na siya.”

Michael is also seen regularly in “Pepito Manaloto” on GMA-7 and in PTV4’s “Go Negosyo”. All his shows are aired on Saturdays. “Go Negosyo” at 1 PM, “#MichaelAngelo” at 3 PM and “Pepito Manaloto” at 6:30 PM. “Sinabi ni Dingdong Dantes sa’kin na isasama rin daw niya ako sa ‘Pari ‘Koy’,” he adds.

Michael is 32 years old. A former seminarian at San Carlos in Guadalupe, Makati, he left two years before his ordination. What happened? “I realized there was rage inside of me at pag nagagalit ako, I can resort to violence. I love the church so much and I want to be an asset to it, not a liability. I sought the help of the late Cardinal Sin and he told me to seek counselling. Doon lumabas na may unresolved issues ako as a battered child. My parents broke up at kami ng sister ko, ginugulpi ng ama namin. Once, when we’re so hungry, hinanap namin ang ama namin at nakikipag-inuman, ang daming pagkain sa mesa nila. Nang makita kami, pinalayas kami at binato ako. So yun ang pinag-uugatan ng galit sa puso ko. Eventually, our mom went abroad to work at lumaki ako sa lola ko.”

After he got out from the seminary, he worked with Bo Sanchez of The Feast and became an effective speaker. Has he no intentions of going back to be a priest? “I’m not closing my doors. Bahala na si Lord kunsaan Niya ako dadalhin. But right now, I can feel dito Niya ko gusto sa medium of television where I can do public service and focus on cultivating good positive values.”

His show has various segments, including a Monologue where he talks about current events and their validity in our lives, delivered with his own punch lines. He’ll have man-on-the-street interviews to talk about various topics with ordinary people. He’ll also have comedy skits, musical guests and studio interviews with celebrities and politicians. His first guest this Saturday is Ai Ai de las Alas, who’s his personal friend. “We met sa The Feast at naging member siya ng aming caring group with Bo Sanchez as our leader. Ai Ai is so generous. Maraming pari siyang tinutulungan. Ako, binibigyan niya ng P20,000 a month. Pero noong wala siyang ginagawa, natigil lahat ito. But now na busy na uli siya sa GMA-7, tuloy na rin ito. Kaya pinagdarasal naming lahat ng kanyang shows sa GMA, magtagumpay.”

Michael is also a best selling author. His book, “Laugh with God Today” sold 10,000 copies in only two months. It presents his own personal takes on Christian faith but presented in his own witty way and laugh out loud humor.
