Half Sisters Star' Derrick Monasterio Graduates From High School & Wants To Be A Pilot

ASIDE FROM Miguel Tanfelix of "Once Upon a Kiss", another Kapuso young actor who just graduated from high school is Derrick Monasterio of the hit afternoon soap, "The Half Sisters", which has just been extended until June. Derrick's graduation at Angelicum College was held last Thursday, March 26. "It wasn't easy working and studying at the same time pero pinagtiyagaan ko talaga ito as I believe in the value of getting a good education," he says.

What can he say to other young stars who neglect their studies once they get to work in showbiz? "Huwag ninyong pabayaan ang pag-aaral ninyo. If I can do it, so you can."

What's his plan now? Will he be going to college? "I'm planning to take a vacation with my dad who lives in the States. So naga-advance taping ako for 'The Half Sisters'. I've said before na gusto ko talagang maging pilot. My dad says I can stay with him at doon na ako mag-aral but I told him I love my acting career here so kung puede, dito na lang ako mag-aral ng aviation kasi kaya ko namang pagsabayin."
