Daniel Padilla And Kathryn Bernardo On The Real Score Between Them

IS DANIEL PADILLA really trying to project the image of a bad boy (like his Uncle Robin) in keeping with his title role in “She’s Dating the Gangster” that opens on Wednesday? “Sa movie lang yun,” he says. “In real life, hindi ako bad boy o gangster. Chill lang ako. Hindi ako maangas.”

How about his partner, Kathryn? Does she prefer someone who’s clean and wholesome or someone with a gangster aura? “I think someone in between. Gusto ko yung medyo may angas ng konti, pero mabait pa rin at alam mong kaya kang ipagtanggol pag may umaaway sa’yo. Pero ayoko naman ng super pasaway at laging nakikipag-away. So, halo lang siguro or combination of both.”

So how would she describe Daniel? “Medyo maangas nga siya, but you know handa siyang lumaban for you pag nasaktan ka.”

They won’t officially admit that they are on. But are they, at least, dating? “Lahat ng labas namin, work related,” says Daniel. “Like nang mag-shoot kami ng ‘She’s Dating the Gangster’ sa Legaspi in Bicol. First time namin doon nang magkasama at nakaakyat pa kami sa Mayon Volcano. So that’s an experience we’ll both cherish.”

“Marami na kaming memories with each other kasi nakapag-out of the country na rin kami together, like our trip to Hongkong,” says Kathryn. “Pero siempre, hindi kami lang. Kasama yung mama ko lagi. But right now, I can say na si DJ ‘yung pinaka-close ko among the boys sa showbiz. Pinaka-komportable talaga ako sa kanya.”
