Cinemalaya Entry About Separated Husbands, 'separados', Completed Filming Topbilled By Comebacking Victor Neri & Alfred Vargas

TALENT MANAGER Noel Ferrer is producing the Cinemalaya entry “Separados” for Director GM Sampedro and he happily told us that the shooting has been completed. Starring in the title role are Jason Abalos, Ricky Davao, Anjo Yllana, Erik Santos (in his first movie role) and the comebacking Congressman Alfred Vargas and former action star Victor Neri who’s been based in Hongkong for sometime. As the title connotes, the six major characters are all separated from their respective wives and each has his own story to tell.

“This is one drama movie na dapat abangan sa Cinemalaya,” says Noel. “Lahat sila, magagaling sa kanya-kanyang role.

The Cinemalaya Filmfest will be held in August but Noel says a lot of entries are still not completed. One of them, “Marquina”, is just about to start shooting. After Judy Ann Santos backed out from the movie, the lead role of the women who has a conflict with her shoemaker father (to be played by Ricky Davao) was offered to other actresses like Carmina Villaroel, Carla Abellana, Angelica Panganiban and Marian Rivera, but they’re all busy with other projects. The final choice is Mylene Dizon, who already won the Cinemalaya best actress award for Chris Martinez’ “100”. Mylene’s sked is now free since her soap “Mirabella” is ending. And knowing how good an actress she is, we won’t be surprised if she’d do wonders with her role in “Marquina”.
