Andre Paras Competes With Derrick Monasterio For Barbie Forteza's Attention

ANDRE PARAS implores writers interviewing him in “The Half Sisters” presscon to stop asking questions about his mom, Jackie Forster, as he feels he has said everything that needs to be said about their situation. He says he has lifted everything up to the Lord and that he’s also praying for the complete healing of his half-sister, Caleigh, who’s afflicted with leukemia but is now on remission.

His younger brother, Kobe, is currently in the U.S. on a basketball scholarship, so he’s now the only one who’s trying local showbiz. He says Kobe is very serious in his desire to be an international basketball player and make it to the NBA. After being introduced in the hit Viva movie, “Diary ng Panget”, Andre now stars in his first soap, “The Half Sisters”, to be shown on GMA-7’s Afternoon Prime starting Monday, June 9, to replace “Villa Quintana” that ends this Friday. He continues to play for the UP Varsity Team and still goes to college regularly.

“Mahirap pagsabayin yung basketball, acting at showbiz, pero so far, kaya ko pa naman,” he says. “Kaya nga ayoko ng soap na sa malalayo ang location kasi sa travel time pa lang, malaking oras na ang kakainin. Okay lang itong ‘Half Sisters’ dahil dito lang sa Manila ang taping.”

He plays Bradley Castillo in “The Half Sisters”, a rich school jock who falls for Barbie Forteza who plays Diana Alcantara. “Magiging magkaribal kami ni Derrick Monasterio. At dahil pareho kaming si Barbie ang gusto, lalong magagalit sa kanya ang half sister niyang umaapi sa kanya, si Thea Tolentino.
